    Default Question:Old subway Train

In Anville town, there was a train that said it is no longer used on the subway. As described by the miner guy, it is still used in a faraway region. Could this be evidence of a remake as i have no knowledge of such a train

There are different trains, I think every day. Every time I talk to him there is a different train there and a different story behind it.

A reference to the railfans in the New York City metropolitan area.

I was under the impression that it was just a train not in use that day.

Depends on which train is there when you get there. There is one that he says they no longer use but the rest seem to be the same as the trains in the Battle Subway.

It could be an old train that is too broke to use. o.o If you're thinking Hoenn, Hoenn is an island, no train could reach it. Plus no train exists between New York to Japan, so we might not see it here.

    AH. No Hoenn, it always brings up arguments. D8;

Um, so, so yeah, it's just an old train.
Signature is a WIP for the moment.
For now, I have claimed: Mewtwo, Member's Card, Wide Lens, Honey Gather, and Psystrike.

The UK is an island, yet you can reach it by train from mainland Europe.. let's not rule anything out aha.

It's not that hard to find in-game text:

This train car is the kind that ran a long time ago. Compared to contemporary cars, it has more parts, so I heard it was difficult to build. The old cars built with lots of small parts have their own unique beauty and attract a lot of fans. Those cars no longer run in the Battle Subway, but I hear they're still used in a faraway region. Ah... I'd love to be on that train!
The train in question isn't supposed to go anywhere, but there are other trains of its kind in a faraway region. The reason that region is unlikely to be Hoenn has little to do with its being an island and more with the fact that we know Hoenn lacks anything remotely like a train station. If anything, at least Kanto and Johto have such a station, but the Magnet Train obviously doesn't fit the description, either.

Simply put, this man is referring to an as-yet unseen region that is far from Unova; Looker does something similar in his last speech. If Game Freak wanted to reference Hoenn, they'd have someone in the Battle Subway mention the Battle Tower.

There's a lot of references to an unknown region in these games. zx

Which ones do you have in mind other than the two already mentioned?

I'd consider these two to be more than enough really, because how often do they refer to a region that doesn't even exist yet?

However, there's also Cynthia, whose home region we still don't know.

They've never really done this kind of thing before, with the notable exception of the Rocket grunt referencing his country. Certain characters from past games were also said to be from other regions (Lt. Surge and Glacia), but they didn't describe those regions at all.

I doubt many people would care to see this train, but the faraway region is probably one and the same as N's destination. I take the emphasis on "faraway" to mean that Game Freak have no short-term plans for exploring the rest of America.

However, there's also Cynthia, whose home region we still don't know.
I'd have to say that Game Freak probably intended for her to have a house in Unova, but they changed their minds when they realized that it wouldn't make too much sense given her being the Sinnoh Champion. She actually says that she'd live in Unova if she could devote her time only to research.
