What do you think 2013 will have in store for the series?
A new 3DS spin-off game released by Creatures and the debut of Generation VI. A Wii game should be released by the end of this year. Lastly, Virtual Console ports are also quite possible.
I feel like there might be a new spin-off game announced or something.
I think that most likely a spin-off for 3DS. Something new probably or maybe a sequel to Mystery Dungeon or Ranger. By that time they could also have a Pokemon Conquest sequel if it ends up being very successful. I hope Gen VI isn't announced till at least 2014.
Hopefully GenVI and Ruby/Sapphire remakes.
Well, I'm thinking that Gen VI will start in 2013, but I doubt we'll get RS remakes until at least 2014 or 2015, along with Ranger 4, MD3, and a 3D battler for the 3DS, assuming they aren't released later this year.
We could get any number of these things, but I think Gen VI main games should debut first.
I believe the Wii U is launching this holiday season? Seems likely to me that a 3D battling game will launch for it sometime in 2013 then. I keep wondering why we don't have one for Gen V yet, especially looking at how quickly PBR was launched after DP.
Maybe Gen VI in late 2013, too because I really hope they give remakes a break this generation.
RSEmakes and a Gen V Battle Sim are all I really want out of this year and next. D: Gen VI can wait until then.
I could see a console game, possibly for WiiU, and maybe the announcement of Gen VI. I personally don't think that'll happen for a while though. Something's going to happen though, so Nothing is the least likely I believe.
Why does anyone want a simple battle sim?
It made sense back in the Stadium days since the handhelds had nothing comparable. In Gen IV, we had Battle Facilities that were much better quality (in terms of design) than PBR. The only thing PBR does is ask us for money to play in 3D. Now we also have better random match up. Normal Stadium-like games don't make sense as they wouldn't really add anything unique to the series.
Any future Wii game should be an RPG like Colosseum. Of course, they can still have their own "Battle Frontier" for your games to communicate with, but at the very least, an RPG game means that if you have no one to play with, you aren't just stuck doing what is essentially a 3D-battle subway.
