But seriously, you can't say that for sure, not even if you think it's unlikely. Oh, and I'd love to know why you think the announcement of Pokedex 3D at E3 "doesn't count", by the way.
And nope, absolutely nothing is different this time around with how the games are being released, so we shouldn't even entertain the possibility that E3 may have new Pokemon XY info that hasn't been spoiled by Japanese releases.
Am I assuming there is going to be E3 info? No. But I'm not going to not entertain the possibility that there might be due to being released internationally.
In e3 2005, there was a demo for Pokemon XD. In e3 2006, they announced Pokemon Mystery Dungeon red and blue. At some time later, the Pokepark localization was mentioned and given a trailer for.
What we have right now... No major piece of Pokemon news for X and Y (anything that wasn't implication) has been kept in a single region so far. Having to be announced in Japan first invalidating reveals in E3 is something that won't be a problem here. It'll just be a case of whether they choose to actually do it or not.
Given the way the games have been marketed, it's possible, but not a guarantee, due to the 6 month gap between the Japanese and English release that's usually with Pokemon games in the past. Nintendo also usually tends to keep the Pokemon franchise separate from the rest of it's franchises, and often focuses more on their other big titles such as Mario and Zelda, so it's not likely regardless, though given the possible worldwide release of the games, it's possible we might get some news, otherwise we have to continually rely on CoroCoro, and news on the games HAVE been slow due to it.
Heck, the Pokemon games aren't shown that much at the Tokyo Game Show (the Japanese equivalent of E3) either, if at all, so it's a double whammy for fans in both Japan and the US.
Last year, Black 2/White 2 were given a brief mention during the software showcase and Conquest was obviously on the event floor (as there were press packs for it). Pokédex 3D was also briefly shown off during a Keynote last year, so I wouldn't rule out XY being shown in some way or form at E3.
Nintendo already has plenty of solid Wii U titles that they have confirmed will be there (new Mario Kart, new 3D Mario game, screens of the new Super Smash Bros.) as well as some others that have been announced that might appear (Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Monolith Soft's new project) and some that have been in development for a while (like Retro Studio's new game, which was apparently meant to be shown last year but postponed).
The 3DS release slate beyond Q2 2013 is pretty bare though in terms of AAA hard hitters. Obviously, there will be some announcements at the event itself (hopefully the 3DS Zelda game that is being worked on and a localisation for Bravely Default: Flying Fairy), but XY is currently one of the most anticipated games on the console that does fit into the currently bare Q3 schedule and for once it being featured will be internationally relevant, due to the near-simultaneous release of the games across all regions. This time around, I would be very surprised to see it not at least mentioned during Nintendo's Keynote. Will it get a full on showing though? That remains to be seen, but I won't rule out the possibility.
I don't think that they will be playable there, but I think it's likely we'll see a new trailer for it.
I know I'll be disappointed if they don't showcase anything, especially gameplay.
The only reason I could think of as to why it WOULDN'T happen would be that E3 is an American convention. So far everything that's been announced/revealed has been at an international level, at more or less the same time. (Granted, there's only really been 2 things released about X&Y, but it's happened that both times.) Having stuff that was exclusive to E3 would mean that only Americans would get to see the promotional videos/art/whatever.
Of course, it COULD work in everyone's favor. Ninfia/Sylveon appeared in CoroCoro, and the video featuring it was on the US site by the next day, wasn't it? Following that trend could mean that the stuff at E3 would be revealed internationally within a few days after E3.
But that aside, I agree that Pokemon should and could show up at E3. The argument that it's a western convention and thus should not show it is hokum. Once something like Pokemon news hits the internet it's viral with in minutes. And it'd be nice to get the info first here for a change.
Nintendo France wanted to show Xenoblade Chronicles a few years ago, but was blocked because at the time NOA weren't planning on releasing it. So yeah, everything shown has to be coming out in America.
But we already know XY are, so it's a moot point.
its a greater posibilty... the games are suppost to be realesed in Japan and the US at the same time. Corocoro isnt in the states and it would be excellent product placement for audiences who have never heard of Corocoro. i also think since it is a revolutioary game in terms of graphic and content that it would behoove nintendo to get thier infpormation as much out as possible to help drum up demand for the 3ds
