Found this on Serebii courtesy of Regality:

It seems that the Pokémon will show emotion at certain points in battle, though the effect is not known.

I hope this isn't default and is only available by using Pokemon-Amie, as that would make the feature more relevant. This would definitely be an incentive for me to use it. I like the personal touch those messages add to the battles.

^I think all of the demo Pokemon were "Pokemon-Amied", since they all "waited for their trainer's orders" or whatever. Meaning, I assume this isn't default.

Aww don't cry, Chespin, you cute thingy. <3 Pokémon XY seems to be bringing a lot of cute stuff to the series and I can't say I am not enjoying it.

"Chespin is in a bit of a pinch. It looks like it might cry..."
This sounds like something straight out of a creepypasta. Seriously.

Well to be fair, Crystal was longer because of the Pokemon animation, though that can be turned off by turning off battle animations as far as my memory goes with that game. But I definitely do see GS being the longer in encounter load time, if not just because of the transition between field to battle screen.

That is so cute that it has little messages like that now. Hopefully they'll vary a bit depending on your Pokemon's nature, species/type, stuff like that. The stuff you got interacting with a walking Poke in HGSS had a little of that, but not nearly enough- you could end up with things like a "serious" Pokemon dancing around like a fool. :P

Is anyone else irritated by the fact that no one bothered to test Fairy-type's interactions during any of these demos? I know the full revised type chart is literally ten days away, but I still feel twitchy when I keep seeing videos of people not using Froakie's Lick or Sylveon's Fairy Wind against a wild Flabebe or Dedenne because it feels like the confirmation is right in front of me but I just can't grab it. Just to be clear, Ghost and Fairy are the only types that weren't tested while the others available in the demo were all confirmed to be neutral.

Isn't it unfair to say that no one tested Fairy's interactions if those types are the only ones that weren't tested?

Well, to paraphrase it, I meant just those two.
