As other have said, it's waaay too early for them to announce RSEmakes yet. I'm betting on 3rd game or event legendary myself.

Actually, it's quite the opposite. Junichi Masuda has never made a spin-off series game for Pokemon, so it's likely to be a main series game. But sometimes, there are some exceptions.

So? It's also nearing R/S ten year anniversary... plus FR/LG was on the 8th anniversary instead of the tenth... and R/S was released 2 years after G/S remember? so it makes sense tp repeat it.

It could be anything. Didn't someone say that there is going to be a huge shock to fans later in the coming years? Perhaps it's this.

Which goes to show that anniversaries aren't a factor.

The gap was exactly three years. If anything, it makes sense to extend the gap, which is what happened with FRLG and HGSS. Otherwise, the repetition will become overtly blatant.

    Remakes? Shock? Something doesn't compute.

Still by logic it will repeat itself G/S was relased in 1999 in Japan and 2000 evertwere else except for S. Korea. and HG/SS was relased inn 2009 in Japan and 2010 in the US. so it makes sense that the R/S Remkes will be released in 2012 in Japan and 2013 in the US nd hopefully end the remakes...

But you could always keep applying this "logic" to subsequent generations. At any rate, I'm not here to challenge the viability of remakes, but rather to make a point about the upcoming game which will most likely be released around January, which is simply too early for a remake.

It's not early for another main series game, but it is too early for a remake. FRLG were the first pair of remakes and a genuine surprise; besides, they needed to be released as soon as possible to prevent Generation III from going stale with just 202 Pokémon.

I don't think its to early.. R/S really need to be remade they aren't playable on the current handhelds... plus it'sisa bit to early for Grey... B/W have will have been outfor barly a year... i say give us the R/s remakes now since it's they're 10 year anniverary and release Grey after that

Every little thing GF produce is superhyped as revolutionary, but lines up in a very predictable pattern.

It's their ninth anniversary and they were perfectly playable until the DS Lite was recently phased out, which was less than a year ago. By the time HGSS were released, the Generation II games had been unplayable for five years, and they had been obsolete since even before that.

I see no reason why Hoenn remakes are any more necessary right now than HGSS were in 2007 or 2008.

When HGSS were announced, Pokémon Sunday had those gold and silver balls. For those who are gonna watch Pokémon Smash, keep a lookout for Junichi Masuda mentioning something about revisiting an old region (or something similar) and/or red & blue balls during the preview for next week's episode, 'cos it might indictate that this new game = R/S remakes.

The DS lite was pretty much dead when the DSi came out. and HG/SS were relased 2 months from the true 10th anniversary so they were also technically released on their 9th anniversary plus HG/SS werecompletly unessicary we could already get all the Johto pokemon in Gen IV. Nostalgia is a good reason

No, it wasn't. Why do you think HGSS kept the Pal Park and yet didn't have a single DSi-exclusive feature? The DSi never got close to the DS Lite in terms of sales.

HGSS were released three years into Generation IV and five years into the DS' lifetime. But by all means, go on about how it is actually the ninth anniversary that is the real hallmark to be commemorated, leaving aside any other factor. I trust that you expect Sinnoh remakes in 2015, then.
