Actually, look back to the trailer and stop at 0:50 and pause. When they introduce Pokabu (Tepig) you'll see him in the MC's bed and Axew as the partner in that scene.
They just like to show off Pikachu as the hero as much as they can. Much like that PMD2 commercial.
Re: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth
That's cool. Thanks, Isaac.
Also, I really hope that picture thing isn't true. But, if that happens, I'd probably just end up taking pictures of other people until I get to be either an Axew or a Snivy. Both are fine, and I'd prefer to leave it up to chance.
Re: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth
D8 Eep, we'll have to take a picture of ourselves to choose who we are? Time to dig out the Pikachu mega-plush, that should make it clear enough who I want to be.
Re: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth
Am I the only one who thinks that taking a picture would be the absolute coolest thing ever? Haha, I guess it's just that I like the creative little gimmick. I doubt it has any bearing on who you are and it's just random. Will miss the quiz, but the picture thing is rather interesting.
Re: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth
I like the picture idea, personally. Envisioning this in action just immediately makes me think of the phrase "What Kind of Pokemon are you?" (and as a result start singing that song XD)
Re: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth
I like the idea of having the picture replace the bit where you press down on the touch screen and the game reads your "aura", and the rest of the personality test is kept... but hey, the picture alone is kinda a cool idea. I'm not too bothered.
Re: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth
From what I've heard abput the game so far, I'm pretty excited. I enjoyed the past PMD games. I think the picture thing is pretty cool, angd how there's infinite dungeons. And its pretty awesome it has 3-D models...
hold on. :epictheorytime:
FACT: there are attack animations made for the PMD games.
Does this mean we will have awesome 3D attack sequences?
If so, will the attack animations for these newer models provide a base for future games?
I think in gen VI there will be no sprites and it will all be replaced with 3D models. And the attack animations from now might be re-used for future games. Or not.
Maybe I shouldn't be doing any gen VI speculation right now...XD
Aaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnyyyyyyyyyyywaaaaaaaaaays I don't think Pikachu,Axew,Oshawott,Tepig, and Snivy will be the only choices. But if they are, oh well...I will be either an Oshawott or Axew hopefully XD
Re: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth
The Pokemon in the picture look like balloons.
Even though it will probly never happen, I wish for a Mystery Dungeon...
...Or at least something OTHER then Pokepark. It was fun at first, but we had enough of those. Nintendo or Game Freak or whoever is being lazy, or milking it for the money.
Re: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth
Er, @Shiny Shinx; this new game is already confirmed to be a new Mystery Dungeon. And don't be hating on PokePark, it's good simple fun.

Oh! So thats really awesome! Do they know what system it will be on? Also, I'm not trying to hate. I accually have the first Pokepark game, and it's really fun! To bad I can't play it though 'cause my Wii isn't working. I just feel that Nintendo's main focus right now is on the Pokepark series. It's fun, but I don't want the classics (Ranger and Mystery Dungeon) to be forrgoten!
Re: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth
It totally isn't on the Poképark series. It had only two games, one of them being the first one and the second one a sequel for the fifth generation, just like how there were sequels for Ranger and MD on the fourth generation. And, while I think the minigames from the first one are kinda "meh", the battles and chases are really cool, specially since it's the closest to a real-time version of Pokémon 'o'
Also, it has confirmed to be for the 3DS. There was also a trailer and some images for it, they're... Somewhere... On the thread. Yeah.
Now, about the game...
OH MY GOD IT'S SO PRETTY
Ok, back to normal. It looks really good, even if there are only 5 starters (I hope there are more, but)... Also, the portraits are extremely awesome, and that Kyurem is just... Enormous. I wonder if he's gonna be the same size in the actual gameplay?
Btw, kinda happy that, now that they're using models, the cutscenes appear to have more "dynamic" camera angles. It looks a lot cooler.
Re: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth
I might but 3DS, but there is a problem.
REMOVE ALL STARTERS EXCEPT PIKACHU AND ADD UNOVA ONES? WUT? NO MOAR MUDKIPZ? D:
But looking at the trailer, it seems that u can evolve without beating the game. Thats good.
And its really hard to choose. I wanted to try charizard + pika, but i cant >.<
No more fighting and fire. Im sick of that. Tepig is out.
Axew? Evolve too late. Naw.
Oshawott? maybe but no more tepig. Out.
Snivy + pikachu? EPIC FAIL
Im going to take quite some time to decide, which is a bad thing, and i might not buy it.
Edit: the web and the starters page: http://www.pokemon.co.jp/ex/dungeon_magnagate/outline/story_01.html
You can translate it. :)

So far, there hasn't been multi-tiled characters in any Mystery Dungeon, specially I doubt here because you are supposed to play as it.
So no (though his model will be naturally larger than other pokémon and have a 4-star body size.)

Actually, I was talking about the model itself. I mean, it IS pretty huge, and having it stay the same size during normal gameplay would be kinda odd since it would all need to fit one tile. So I wonder if they won't make him a little smaller inside the dungeons themselves...
Re: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth
Question: Will we be able to play as other pokemon like in the other PMDs?
You know like switching between your partner and the leader of the team.
