Thread: A new stat?

If you could add a new stat to the mix of pokemon, hidden or not, what would it be/how would it work?
Personally, I'd like to see an IQ-like stat, because every pokemon I catch seems to be an idiot that always kills itself in confusion.

Luc. Increased the chance of Accuracy hax and secondary effects. Easy way to buff crap pokemon.



Luvdisc with 999 Luck would always crit, get secondary effects, and never miss.

I don't see them doing that though.

RNGing will end up making every Tom, Dick and Harry have a always critical hitting, secondary effecting team.

I'm sorry, I didn't know Nintendo checked Bulbagarden for ideas.

But isn't this thread for ideas which you could see being in teh games?

I would LOVE to see the say Luvdisc is OU. It'll be even more awesome when I learned Ditto was OU (before I heard it's new ability)

Yea, a new stat you'd like to see to make the game better/more complicated (not that it needs a lot more complication :P )

Nintendo is fully aware of RNG abuse by now. They're not completely clueless about the fanbase, you know.

They probably visit fansites too. They sent out the C&D letters once, proving they are aware of the fanbase, and if someone looked through the IP logs of guests, a few could be traced back to Nintendo.

Adding a new stat would probably cause the competetive part of the fandom to rage about how the "balance" is ruined again. So no.

I agree with luck, and maybe a few moves would be under a new stat for Attack + Defense, like Legend Att, Legend Def.

Anywho, I agree with Luck. That would certainly bring a whole new aspect of battling to the games.

I don't know so much about new, but I always felt they should make accuracy and evasiveness actual proper stats like the main 6. With things like Protein, but for these stats, and evs and ivs for them too. So you can have Pokemon with really great accuracy, or really great evasiveness, instead of all Pokemon's accuracy being base 100, then combined with the accuracy of a move.

I agree with Zorua's Illusion - I'd like it if GameFreak made "Evasion" a fully-fledged stat. For example, larger Pokémon like Gigalith would have low evasion, but smaller Pokémon like Weavile would have higher evasion. However, "Accuracy" doesn't really need to become a stat, as each attack has their own accuracy.

But yeah, Nintendo do check fansites. They've admitted to it in the past.

Nah I dont see a need for a new stat as its fine right now.

If they did add a new stat like say luck or made Evasion a full stat then some pokemon would be broken due to you not being able to hit them.
