    Pokemon Species: Charmeleon
    Nickname: Charmeleons
    Level: 30
    Ball: Ultra Ball
    Nature: Quirky
    Area encountered: Friend Safari
    Level encountered: 30
    OT: James
Moves: SmokeScreen, Dragon Rage, Scary Face, Fire Fang
Stats: HP: 84 Attack: 49 Defense: 42 Sp. Attack: 61 Sp. Defense: 52 Speed: 62
    Ability: Blaze

First of all, it's in an Ultra Ball, and I haven't gotten to this "Friend Safari" yet but you can't catch starters unless you can in the Friend Safari. So is this Charmeleon hacked? I got it on the GTS for an Espurr.

you can catch starters in the Friend Safari, don't worry c:

I've gone ahead and added a new addition to the format to help specify things further. With Gen 6 allowing pokemon to be caught in pokeballs previously automatically marking a pokemon as hacked, this should help further identify hacks without the added confusion on what game you're playing.

Serebii has a really nice list of Pokes that can be caught in Friend Safari. It includes the Starters in this Generation and First Generation.

Okay, I've been looking through my Pokemon lately, and I noticed that a Politoed I got in (I think) a GTS trade a while back had Drizzle. Looking closer, it seems a bit too good, so just out of curiosity, what do you guys think:

    Gen this is concerning: V
    Pokemon Species: Politoed
    Ribbons: Premier Ribbon
    Ball: Pokeball
Area encountered: Day-Care Couple (Egg received on 10/12/2011) Relic Castle (egg apparently hatched on the same day).
    OT: FLeaf (ID: 12867)
Moves: Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Focus Blast, Hidden Power (Grass).
Stats: Timid Nature, somewhat vain, has Pokerus.
    HP: 322
    Attack: 166
    Defense: 186
    Special Attack: 278
    Special Defense: 236
    Speed: 262

My guess is it's just been RNGd because of the ribbon, then expertly EV trained, but I figured I'd ask anyway just to be safe.

Yep, it's RNG'd. The only way for a Pokémon to have a ribbon in Gen V is either:
    a) it's transferred from Gen IV
    b) it's an event 'mon.

There are no means to obtain a ribbon in Gen V otherwise.

Ok, so I got a alot of pokemon from this Give-Away method.
They was giving to me by the unlimited give-away method. When you change you dns setting to something and you has to be on the gts link for the pokemon you want. What im wondering about, are they real or are they hacks? Pokemon like Meloetta I recieved, has all the correct info about it, to be an real event pokemon. And I also got all the Unova starter that way and they can breed, and they don't get the bad egg hack.

It just seems weird that they can multiple those event pokemon and give away a bunch, without them being illegal someway.

The fake GTS things arent real or official events, so unlegit. Even if the "event" Pokemon look real, they can be made to look completely legit by hacking.

Oh, that's too bad. I delete them then, since Im not interested in having hacked ones.
But what about the offsprings of the Unova starters I got? Do the offsprings count as hacks as well, if that parent was from that fake gts?

Depends on your opinion, I consider them legit since they were hatched in your game. Others might feel differently.

Okay, so I've been trying to find a place to check the legitimacy of some pokemon nearly all day and finally stumbled across this thread. I acquired a copy of Diamond from a used game store so that I could begin collecting 999 pokemon to get a mew from My Pokemon Ranch. This game however has a ton of pokemon on it and before I wipe to begin collecting for My Pokemon Ranch I figured I would trade some out of it to my Platinum game then up the ladder to B/W etc etc. I did notice that a lot of these Pokemon have been acquired from AR however, but some appear to be legit. I have quite a few I would like checked, but I figured I would post just a few first to see if my suspicious on some of the legit one are even correct. (not sure if there is a "woah this is too many pokemon to check for one post" limit or not) So let me start off with one that I KNOW is hacked in. Please note that these are all from the same Diamond cart I mentioned above.

    Pokemon Species: Celebi Lv. 20
    Ribbons: None
    Ball: Pokeball
Area encountered: Mining Museum Met at Lv. 20
    OT: DAVE (ID: 15422)
Moves: Recover, Heal Bell, Safeguard, Magical Leaf
Stats: Lonely nature. Aug. 19, 2009 (Ability: Natural Cure)
    HP: 75
    Attack: 51
    Defense: 40
    Special Attack: 49
    Special Defense: 47
    Speed: 49

Okay, the next ones are some that are very hard for me to tell if they are legit.

    Pokemon Species: Latias Lv. 100
    Ribbons: None
    Ball: Master Ball
Area encountered: Hoenn (Arrived at Lv. 100)
    OT: Billy (ID: 48940)
Moves: Psychic, Mist Ball, Thunderbolt, Aerial Ace

    Pokemon Species: Groudon Lv. 100

Moves: Fire Blast, Eruption, Thunder, SolarBeam
Stats: Gentle nature. Jul. 8, 2009
    HP: 349
    Attack: 335
    Defense: 288
    Special Attack: 226
    Special Defense: 238
    Speed: 208

    Pokemon Species: Dialga Lv. 100
    Ribbons: Sinnoh Champ Ribbon
    Ball: Master Ball
Area encountered: Spear Pillar Met at Lv. 47
    OT: DAVE (ID: 15422)
Moves: Earth Power, Aura Sphere, Dragon Claw, Roar of Time
Stats: Timid nature. Jul. 31, 2007
    HP: 353
    Attack: 263
    Defense: 276
    Special Attack: 328
    Special Defense: 221
    Speed: 248

    Pokemon Species: Arceus Lv. 100
    Ribbons: Sinnoh Champ Ribbon
Ball: Dusk Ball? (looks like a dusk ball but seems to have a white button)
Area encountered: Hall of Origin Met at Lv. 80
    OT: DAVE (ID: 15422)
Moves: Perish Song, Judgment, Recover, Hyper Beam
Stats: Docile Nature. Jul. 12, 2009
    HP: 360
    Attack: 270
    Defense: 267
    Special Attack: 262
    Special Defense: 267
    Speed: 270

    Pokemon Species: Banette Lv. 51
    Ribbons: None
    Ball: Ultra Ball
Area encountered: Route 226 Met at Lv. 51
    OT: DAVE (15422)
Moves: Shadow Ball, Sucker Punch, Embargo, Snatch
Stats: Gentle nature. Jun. 29, 2009
    HP: 139
    Attack: 125
    Defense: 70
    Special Attack: 95
    Special Defense: 91
    Speed: 72

So, the hard part is most of the legendaries on this cart look hacked. Understandible. But there are a ton of other pokemon which look legitimate, and then a bunch that have come from "Mining Museum" which from what I am finding only has 7 "catchable" pokemon. So I guess in addition to the above pokemon I have a couple of questions in determining legitimacy.

-Would there be any reason for a Lv. 100 pokemon to only have 3 moves?
-Do Fossil pokemon claimed at the Mining Museum say "Mining Museum Met at Lv. xx" (where xx is lvl met at) for their Area Encountered, or does it say something about the fossil?
-Should I be cautious of Pokemon that have an area encountered of Distant Land?

Thanks for all your help in advance!

Although I don't think it's hacked it's always nice to get another opinion. I'm really trying to make sure no hacked Pokemon are used in my game.

Gen this is concerning: Gen IV
    Pokemon Species: Alakazam
    Nickname: Alakazam
    Ribbons: None.
    Ball: Quickball
    Area encountered: Route 5
    Level encountered: Apparently Lv. 10
    OT: X
Moves: Teleport, Psychic, Shadow Ball, Energy Ball
    Stats:
    Attack: 26
    Defense: 22
    Sp.Attk : 55
    Sp. Def: 37
    Speed: 48
    -----
    From: Japan
    Date met: 11/6/2013
    Characteristic: Quick tempered
    Nature: Docile
    ID no. 11906
    Ability: Synchronize

This is my first ever trade from GTS so I'm pretty new at it all hah. It looks all normal but another confirmation would be good. Alakazam wasn't in english when traded but when I got off GTS it was in english, however I'm guessing this is normal?

So far it looks like it could be an event Jirachi transferred over from the Gen V games. U-turn, Dazzling Gleam, and Thunderbolt are all TM moves in Gen VI, so its moveset seems legit. Can you tell us its ID number?

So I traded with someone some days ago and I recieved Meloetta and Victini.
Though, since hacked Pokemon has gone through Pokemon Bank, I'm a slighty bit skeptical about these two.

    Victini - Timid
    Lvl 100
    Victory Star
    No Ribbon
    Ball: Cherrish Ball
Area encountered: A fateful encounter seems to have led it across Space and time to Reach the Kalos region from the Unova Region.
    Characteristics: Takes plenty of siestas
    OT: Movie14
    ID No. 12031
Moves: V-create, Fusion Bolt, Fusion Flare and Psychic
Stats: 31 in all six stats.

    Meloetta - Timid
    Lvl 100
    Serene Grace
    Wishing Ribbon
    Ball: Cherrish Ball
Area encountered: A fateful encounter seems to have led it across Space and time to Reach the Kalos region from the Unova Region.
    Characteristics: Likes to thrash about
    OT: SPR2013
    ID No. 03013
Moves: Psychic, Shadow Ball, Charge Beam, Relic Song
Stats: 31 in all six stats.
