It looks legit, but the "fateful encounter" bugs me. But I think it's the location, not the actual Fateful Encounter flag.
It's hacked. There's never been an event for shiny Latios, and it wouldn't be in a Master Ball if it were an event Pokemon.
But it doesn't say it's an event Pokémon o.o

I didn't say it was an event Pokemon, only that it was made to look like one. I'm saying it's hacked because event Pokemon are never in Master Balls, only Poke Balls or Cherish Balls, therefore it is not a legit Pokemon.

Fateful Encounter usually only applies to event Pokemon, but in this case, it's not. There were only three event Latios that were distributed during Gen III, and none of them are level 50. They were all level 70.

My guess is somebody created this Pokemon with PokeSav or with an AR code.

Oh hell, I didn't see this sooner, so I put mine in the General Questions thread. Oops :/

Anyway, I got this off the GTS today:

    Species: Riolu
Nickname: I don't think it has one; it's in Japanese
    Ribbons: None
    Ball: Dream Ball
    Area encountered: Faraway place
    Level encountered: 30
    OT: Japanese characters
Moves: Force Palm, Copycat, Screech, Reversal
Stats: HP 72, Attack 48, Defense 29, Sp. Atk 30, Sp. Def 36, Speed 43
    Ability: Prankster

I think it looks fairly legit, but the Dream Ball and the Faraway place are throwing me off.

If it really did come from the Dream World, it would've had an encounter level of 10, not 30. There was a level 30 Riolu you could obtain from Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, but it would be impossible for it to have it's hidden ability and be in a Dream Ball. So this is probably hacked.

    Species: Skuntank
    Nickname: N/A
    Ribbons: N/A
    Nature: Rash
    Ball: Pokeball
    Area: Johto
Level: "Apparently arrived at" Level 61
    OT: Sarah (ID is 29485)
    Moves: Nothing Suspicious
Stats: This is where it raises a red flag for me. Here is what the IV guy says about its "intriguing potential"

Outstanding Overall. Best potential lies in HP. And its Attack stat is also good. Its defense stat is also good. Its Sp. Atk is equally good. Its Sp. Def stat is good as well. Well, its Speed stat is also good. Its Fantastic in that regard. That's how I judged it.

Ive since maxed out its EVs. i cant recall where i put my points...But the IV checker on veekun reported evey stat to have either 30 or 31 when I first checked.

At level 74 now, its stats are: 259 HP, 211 Atk, 126 Def, Sp. Atk 145 (+ rash), Sp. Def 105 (- Rash), Speed 198

I've got a couple that need to be checked:

    Species: Golurk
    Nickname: ゴルーグ
    Ribbons: None
    Nature: Mild (Good perseverance.)
    Ball: Dusk
    Area: Faraway place
    Level: 48
OT: In Japanese. No. is 03535
    Ability: Klutz
Moves: Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt, Strength, Heavy Slam

    And again:

    Species: Golurk
    Nickname: ゴルーグ
    Ribbons: None
Nature: Impish (Likes to thrash about.)
    Ball: Luxury
    Area: Faraway place
    Level: 50
OT: Again, Japanese. No. is 52266
    Ability: Iron Fist
    Moves: Psychic, Toxic, Thunderbolt, Earthquake

Usually, I can spot a hack from ten miles away--if it wasn't caught in the Tower, it ain't legit. But that "Faraway place" tag is confusing the living slag out of me. The last time I saw that tag, I was trading between Johto and Sinnoh. So how would a Golurk end up with that tag unless it was hacked? Color me completely befuddled over here.

And before anyone asks, yes, I'm keeping them. Legit or not the big fellas are still mine.

The Faraway Place location was used in Gen IV for places that do not exist in the game the Pokemon is traded to. For instance, if a Pokemon is caught in HGSS Victory Road, and then traded to DPPT, it's location will be Faraway Place.

However, in Gen V, the Faraway Place location cannot currently be applied to any Gen V location, since there is currently only one region associated with Gen V. So both of them are probably hacked.

That's what I was thinking, but I really wasn't sure. Thanks.

Like I said, they go nowhere. Hacked or not, I keep 'em.

Yup, everything checks out. This is the event Mew that was distributed in Fall 2010.

I trade Eggs in exchange for other eggs on the GTS Negotiations frequently. No problems yet, but I just came across a rather strange one..

When I received the egg in the trade, GTS listed it as "Egg" and gave nothing about name/nickname, as usual for eggs. But once I took it out of my PC, I noticed something off.

The picture's normal. In a pokeball. The top screen is the same as every other egg I've traded:
    "7/7/2012
A mysterious pokemon Egg obtained in Link Trade.
    "The Egg Watch"
What will hatch from this? It doesn't seem close to hatching."

But on the bottom screen, while viewing it's profile, it says "Charmander" instead of egg. When I look in my party, it says "egg" just like the others.
I figure it's hacked, but how badly? I don't care about it's legitimacy so long as it's legal, but does it seem safe to hatch or should I lock it up in my PC for good?

This looks pretty legit. Is there a reason you think it might be hacked?

Well, it's hatch-day is the same day my electrike was placed in the GTS system. I specifically requested for a female Zorua in exchange, while the gender ratio is 12.5% females. So obviously it will take quite some time to breed one. Granted, I didn't know how many hours it took before the trade proceeded as by the time I next checked the GTS it was 2 days later. Plus it had the move Cut. I don't know if it's an egg move, but I think it's pretty dumb and inconsiderate to give a HM move which can't be deleted (?) to a newly hatched pokemon that was about to be traded. :/
