Re: The "Is My Pokémon Hacked?" Thread
I am new here, and also a complete newbie to pokemon trading and events and all that...I used to play as a kid, but not for a while now, and I've recently gotten back into it. It's gotten more complicated, though. I say this to prepare you all for the possible obviousness of the hack I've gotten from the in-game GTS, but I just don't know if it is or not. Anyway, the info:
Pokemon Species: Jirachi
Nickname: None
Ribbons: None that I am aware of
Ball: Pokeball
Area encountered: Hoenn.
Level encountered: Apparently arrived at Lv. 5 after a long travel through time.
Current Level: 19
OT: Something in Japanese or another non-Roman lettering language
Moves: Wish, Confusion, Rest, Swift
Stats: All approximately the same.
If any other info is needed, please let me know.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

What's the date on it?
Jirachis are usually in Cherish Balls, but if it's from 2006 or earlier, then it's possible it was distributed in a Poke Ball. If it's not from 2006 or earlier, then it's probably not legit.
Re: The "Is My Pokémon Hacked?" Thread
^It has to be 2006 or earlier and in a regular Poke Ball to have come from Hoenn anyway. Cherish Balls were introduced in Generation 4. The first three listed here fit the description. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Tanabata_event_Pok%C3%A9mon#2004
Looks legit to me. :)
Re: The "Is My Pokémon Hacked?" Thread
Hi all! I received this Slowking from the GTS and I just wanted to know if it's legit or not. I only wanted it for dex-filling purposes, but...
Pokemon Species: Slowking
Nickname: CRETINUS
Ribbons: None
Ball: Ultra Ball
Area encountered: Tohjo Falls
Level encountered: 23
Current Level: 23
OT: RED
Moves: Growl, Water Gun, Confusion, Disable
Stats: 77 HP, 48 Attack, 42 Defense, 45 Sp. Attack, 62 Sp. Defense, 19 Speed
Ability: Oblivious
However, the date it was caught: August 4, 2060.
Is the year something a user can change on their DS? Or am I just getting worked up over something minor?

There's a pretty good chance it's legit. The OT was probably RNGing and forgot to put the time back. ;-)
Re: The "Is My Pokémon Hacked?" Thread
You can manually change the date. The moveset is correct for a level 23 Slowpoke in Generation IV as well (in Gen V, it would have Headbutt instead of Growl due to level up moveset changes). I agree, it's legit.

This is not a legit Mew. First of all, it's in a Master Ball, which doesn't match up with its level. The only way you could catch it in a Master Ball would be to acquire the Old Sea Map in Emerald and travel to Faraway Island. But the Mew that is caught there is at level 30. Any other Mew would be distributed via wi-fi in a Cherish Ball, and with a Premier Ribbon. Also, any Pokemon distributed via wifi would not have a specified caught location (Faraway Place).

This is what I thought but I just wanted to make sure. Thank you for the reply!
Re: The "Is My Pokémon Hacked?" Thread
I got this Carracosta off the GTS in Black 2...
Pokemon Species: Carracosta
Nickname: DOOR
Ribbons: None
Ball: Luxury Ball
Area encountered: Humilau City
Level encountered: 49
Current Level: 100
OT: SUMOSAM
Moves: Scald, Smack Down, Crunch, Rock Slide
Stats: 282 HP, 246 Attack, 295 Defense, 215 Sp. Attack, 159 Sp. Defense, 83 Speed
Ability: Sturdy
Re: The "Is My Pokémon Hacked?" Thread
^If it's a fossil 'mon in Gen 5, it would be legit based on the ball it's caught... if it came from entree forest. Otherwise itshould say it's met at Nacrene City and in a Poké ball.
Seems hacked to me.
Re: The "Is My Pokémon Hacked?" Thread
Huh, I figured. I only wanted it for breeding and dex-filling anyway. Thanks for telling me though!
Re: The "Is My Pokémon Hacked?" Thread
Received in a trade. Shiny Lopunny. When I checked its IVs, I found that they are all zero. It is Lonely, has Cute Charm, female, nicknamed LOPUNNY. Arrived from Sinnoh at lv. 45 on 12/7/2012. Knows 4 moves from its level-up movelist. In a Safari Ball. No ribbons.

I don't think you can get Buneary/Lopunny in any Safari Zone....
