Thread: Have you ever spent a long time looking for one Pokemon?

Chansey. Dear Primus, Chansey. Low encounter rate in the Safari Zone in FR/LG and every single time I found one it. Would. FLEE. I hate that pink freak with the burning intensity of a hundred million mid-summer desert suns.

It was eight months of work to finally hatch a shiny Roselia on Emerald. My shiny Golett hunt was half that--a bit over four months--but it felt like it was an eternity. But the payoff was worth it. (Well, for the Golett, at least....)

I once tried to search for a Chimecho in my Sapphire until the game froze, and I decided to call it quits.

I also once searched for Feebas in Platinum for a while before finding one. I later tried again in Diamond, and then I gave up on that, and another time, I did the same on a Sapphire, before giving up.

It usually takes a long time to get a Pokemon with a certain nature, but I was surprised to find a Riolu as my first encounter in Floccesy Ranch.

Actually, I have been looking for a Pokémon for so long, that I have met a Shiny of another species long before the Pokémon I was searching on first place.

And that has happened me thrice.

Chimecho, Feebas and Ralts in Emerald (boy did this guy like pulling my strings), Cryogonal in White. Ironically enough, I got Cryogonal on my first step in its Twist Mountain area in Black 2.

Those pesky 5% encounter rates in B/W ended up being quite the time sink. Politoed in particular gave me a hard time. Oh and it didn't help that Tornadus kept showing up on every route and harassing me. Didn't stop me from completing the National Dex though.

Then there's the thousands of eggs I've hatched trying to breed a shiny Pokemon. Which was to no avail, of course.

spent 2 days looking for a yanma which has a 1% encounter rate on soul silver

i also spent 3 days resetting for a shiny starter before i got bored and gave up

Munchlax on those freaking Honey Trees in Diamond. I would put honey on every single tree in Sinnoh, and after about a month of doing that I still never encountered one Munchlax. That's when I said "Screw it." and traded a Snorlax over so I could breed it.

Feebas in Emerald was another one, but once I finally did find one I caught about 10 of them to make sure that I had enough XD

Ralts was another one that was hard to find in Emerald. I had to use a repel trick that I found on Youtube to make it a little easier to find one.

Back in Emerald (again) it took me over a week to get a Wailmer by fishing. If I remember correctly, those whales don't appear by surfing so I had to fish. Mind, even with a Cradily as my lead pokemon, I was a terrible fisher in the first place ;_; If it weren't for the Regis sidequest I would've given up.

Looking for a Jynx think it took 20 mins.

In Black 2, I am still searching for a Riolu in Floccesy Ranch. If I am still unable to find it, I may try breeding one in Black and trade it over. And with only one DS system, I may have to use GTS, which is a bummer. Never hurts to try and find it, though.

I was playing black 2 trying to find an Eevee in Castelia City. I found it, then I accidentally killed it, then I found another after around 2 hours of circling the same goddamn tree.

After hatching about 50 male Combees, I give up trying to get a female Combee through breeding. It was just - Aurgh!

Relaxed Ferroseed (I have a boxful now, of non-Relaxed ones) and Cryogonal in White.
