Default Hacked Gamestop Celebi Distribution Over Wi-Fi

Giancarloarimango11, a famous user on YouTube is holding a distribution of Gamestop Celebi over Nintendo Wi-Fi, only it's hacked.

    Watch Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8kQIEiSLy0

I'm pretty sure Bulbapedia covered this kind of distribution before, by changing the Primary DNS and getting Pokemon you wouldn't normally get over Wi-i.

What I am worried about is one, this Celebi could be considered hacked and harmful to the game, possibly corrupting it. Second, this "event" can be abused to get more than one, so someone could stock up on these hacked Celebis and give them away in rades to unexpecting tradees.

I just thought this shold be addressed.

What I want to know is if it is legit or hacked. Would it pass through the Legality Checker?

GCPM has done stuff before too, like the fake twitter account. It's not legit, as it's not sending the card, only the old gts hack. That one celebi will be blacklisted, as it's the same stats each time, instead of being generated like on the real event.

I wonder why no one has found out how to send distros over wifi, only the lame hack that one spiritomb haxxor used.

Also, how did HE get youtube partnership? Hasn't he been suspended like over 9000 times?

Thing is, not everyone will check a blacklist. People could easily trade it while claiming it's real--and in some cases, even the people trading it wouldn't know it's fake. It's a bit of a serious issue; it'd be nice if someone could send this to the Bulbanews guys. Unlike the Spiritomb, this Celebi is not blatantly fake.

I think that most young Pokémon gamers will be mostly if not completely unaware about stuff like this, and these peeps will most likely be, in fact, happy with the Celebi hack; the elders of the Pokémon fandom will be more likely to read blacklists than the younger classes, if at all.

This doesn't seem any different from the numerous other groups distributing Pokemon via the GTS exploit, which Bulbanews has done articles about. I don't see anything specific about this Celebi that indicates it's hacked... it's legal rather than truly legit, and about the equivalent of a clone since the same Celebi is being given out over and over again to anyone who logs on to grab it.

I've yet to hear of a single person to actually have their game damaged or suffer any other ill effects from downloading a Pokemon via this method, however.

This kind of thing is even worse news for anyone who cares about Events and can't get to them personally. These Celebi are being offered in the Trade Forum here on Bulbagarden, and who knows how many other places.

The fact that they are hacked will get lost in the noise as the people who trade for them now probably won't remember to remind people they are not legitimate at a later date.

No, these kinds of things aren't going to hurt anyone's game. It's just more garbage anyone who wants Pokemon from people who actually play the games will have to sift through.

Damn, i think someone traded me one these Celebis....
I'm happy that i was able to get a legit one, so this Celebi is going to be released.
I hope they don't continue to flood the trade section.

Okay, I've got to get a mod to close my trade thread here: http://bmgf.bulbagarden.net/showthread.php?t=99715

I'm releasing the rest of them. I wasn't aware of the TRUE nature of this giveaway until I saw this thread. I've PM'd all the trade partners I traded them too explaining and asking if they wanna trade back.

To be honest i am actually one of those people with these celebi who was trading them on this site. however i wasn't aware that these pokemon were actually hacked, as they seemed legit and even activated the events.

anyways now that i know they are definitely hacked i'll apologise to everyone i traded with and try and arrange to trade back their pokemon. i don't want anyone to have think i was purposely ripping them off, it was just an honest mistake, caused by a youtuber who should next time SPECIFY that they aren't legit. i blame him for this.

I'd say giancarloparimango11 is more infamous than famous. He's fooling his viewers into thinking he's special; when he's using a website that's easily available for all to use.
