I'd like to get confirmation on levels. Serebii's rematch list for Challenge mode only has the Elite 4 increasing by 1 level but Iris by 5 which is weird, and according to this, the gym leaders don't seem to increase in level either.

So is it fluctuating based on your progression? I'd really like to be able to have Iris at level 64 for her Haxorus since I personally want my Lucario and Zoroark at 65 due to it being the levels they learn the last moves I want them to learn....
As long as the level increase gets to 5 by then.
Seems like Shizui's localized name is "Marlon".
ugh... Roxie was good, but Marlon?
Well, it could be worse.
Marlon is from Marlin, a type of swordfish.
I think "Marlon Brando"... They must be going for some theme naming after Roxie and the movie studio.
Also, Mar means sea in a bunch of languages like portuguese.
I like the name "Marlon" for Shizui. It fits a guy who is seen swimming more than walking in the game. I feel like "Achroma" shouldn't have been changed, but I'm too apathetic about the guy to really get worked up about his name; Corless for him is...alright.
Pokestar Studios is much better than Pokewood, imo.
Marlon isn't too bad, but I don't know, maybe I'm too used to Shizui or something but the name doesn't really fit him that well imo. I liked Sean and Shayne.
I like Marlon, Roxie is okay, and I dislike Corless. PokeStar Studios isn't a bad name for PokeWood.
Marlon is okay, I am getting used to it... but Shizui clearly fits the character better.
Corless is just... bad.
I don't know, Professor Corless, just has a very badass ring to it, and it's just as good as Achroma.
I just realized something. While I know you're probably sick of my fanboying over Alder, I question why he went to Iris for the Champion position. Why not Marshal, his disciple? Marshal was an Elite 4 member instead of just a gym leader.
Who said he didn't give him a chance? It is hardly inconceivable that Alder tested the entire Elite Four, but they all lost. After all, he is supposed to be stronger than they are. Iris, on the other hand, probably battled Alder for the first time and won due to being a prodigy like the player characters.
And now it's actually Colress. It's worse now. :(
As far as Iris becoming Champion, I think it's fine. To those who say she was just a GL and might not be strong enough, she got 2 frikin years to train. She could've easily got stronger and beat the whole league if she trained for almost 2 years.
