That's always possible. We only have a sort-of even/odd trend, where even-numbered generations expand previous species while odd-numbered generations (generally) do not.

I would be okay with G6 being another G3 in this respect, though I must admit that I would not entirely complain about, say, a new evo for Noctowl.

Iris: “Did you just say girl?”

    virgil: “That’s right!”

They went out of their way to point out the Eevee’s gender. Granted, this could have to do with Eevee’s gender ratio but, a gender based Eeveelution is a possibility.
Virgil has also won the league, so I guess that's to represent the great trainer = great pokemon bond idea.

I have another point about Virgil's Eevee: In order to get said championship, it defeated a Dragon pokemon.

I was thinking Chespin would be the defensive one of the group, and would be grass-rock when it evolved.

Fennekin would be dark and would be more of a tricky pokemon and would be kind of hard to use, like Serperior.

Froakie should be water-fighting and would be more of an all-around fighter,

    Froakie Forever!!!!!!!

I'm all for expansion generations. We need more pokemon like Gallade and Weavile and less like Klinklang and Beartic.

That wouldn't work because Froakie ends up with a direct advantage over the other two, though.

Infernape has a direct advantage over both Torterra (Fire) and Empoleon (Fighting).

And Torterra had a direct advantage over both Infernape and Empoleon (ground). And Empoleon has a direct advantage over Infernape (water) and an indirect advantage over Torterra (ice; also Torterra loses its water resistance). The cycle was unbalanced in such a way that it became balanced again, basically.

That's what I loved about the typings of the Sinnoh starter evos.

They confirm one pokemon's type and give us two new ones without them. Vivilion and Noivern will hopefully have those revealed in CoroCoro though which should show up in the next 36 hours. A bug and a dragon type, but secondary types I'm not entirely sure of

    Pokémon

The site has given their types. I like them. I don't think they're amazing and all, but solid. I'd assume Vivillion will be the regional bug.

Noivern is Dragon/Flying (sadly) and Vivillion is Bug/Flying.

Yveltal showed this terryfying beam of destruction attack that was in in violet color. Does it mean it's gonna be Ghost? Or Dark? I didn't play the latest Stadium games, but what color did the Ghost special attacks have, and what color had the Dark ones?

Vivillon is freaking adorable. Noivern seems cool as well. I'm loving this gen's Pokemon so far.

They both had a dark purple hue, iirc

The big rumors say that Yveltal is Dark/ Flying. I think that trailer showed Xerneas and Yveltal's signature attacks. Xerneas had a big light ball of energy form in front of it.
