GBA slots - remember Elekid and Magby? Well, there are actually much more pokemons you activate in the wild with the GBA cartridges, and these pokemons are only obtainable this way.

Ruby - Seedot, Nuzleaf, Zangoose, Mawile, Solrock
Sapphire - Lotad, Lombre, Seviper, Sableye, Lunatone
Emerald - Teddiursa, Ursaring, Gligar, Shuckle, Pineco
FR - Caterpie, Metapod, Growlithe, Ekans, Arbok, Elekid
LG - Weedle, Kakuna, Vulpix, Sandshrew, Sandslash, Magby

So, in a certain way, you STILL need the GBA games to get all pokemons, just in a different manner.

THESE DO NOT NEED TO BE JAPANESE CARTS! I HAVE BEEN PLAYING WITH EMERALD IN AND HAVE ENCOUNTERED EVERY POKEMON ON THE EMERALD LIST!

I was wondering why no one else was finding them... o_0

    Yup, seems so.

I think you have to get the National Dex for these to work though.

    Hooray for that. \o

Does this mean you can use the Pal Park with an english game? Or still no or unknown?

According to all sources, no. You need to be the same region to trade in at Pal Park or trade by Wi-Fi. Nintendo probably have some reason based on planned promotions or something, but it's not such a problem with using the older carts as dongles to trigger in-game captures.

However, it should be possible to Pal Park trade in from an English GBA cart if you trade the pokémon to a Japanese GBA cart first.

So, do the Pokemon only appear in certain areas?

Yes. You are given no indication where these areas are other than crafty guesswork. EG.

Magby: Cave with lots of wild Fire types.
    Kakuna: Early game forest.
    Sandslash: Route with Sandstorms.

I guess they would be areas you would expect....such as Sableye is probably in Mount Tengan.

I'm thinking Sableye returns to Victory road. The meteors are probably in tengan.

Lol, I hope someone else has spotted the pattern in those lists. Outside of Emerald of course.

    Yup, they're version exclusives.

And the Emerald Guys are post-E4 Safari Zone.

Bar Caterpie and Weedle, which are simply not meant to normally inhabit the same regions as Wurmple.

Caterpie and Weedle were more prominent in one version though.
