The In-Game Team Review Thread

I'm not sure if this is the correct thread, but I want to create a In-game team for Firered. I do have curtain rules though:

1) A Pokemon's Types cannot match with another Pokemon's Type. For example: If I use a Lapras, I cannot use a Blastoise.
2) Five of the six Pokemon must be caught during the story, or pre-game. One Pokemon may be caught post-game.
3) Pokemon cannot have Egg Moves or be hatched.
4) I cannot use the following Pokemon: Alakazam, Machamp, and Tyranitar.

Pokemon I like: Lapras, Poliwrath, Victreebel, Arcannine, Gengar, Marowak, Raichu, Dragonite, among others.
Pokemon I don't really like: Starmie, Venomoth, Golduck, Dewgong, among others.

To Staff: If this is in the wrong thread, can you please move it in the correct thread?

Since I never saw this answered... There are 17 types. I'm gonna list them so I don't repeat them by accident.

Okay, so you said no repeating types. I'm also going to try and stay away from pokemon you have to trade in order to evolve, Because those are a little difficult to do in Gen III

As for sets, seeing as this is in game, I don't think they matter too much. My general in game strategy is hit stuff hard. But later on in the game, you may want some actual sets. But that's in that tower place where all the trainers were level 100 and stuff.

As for Ferrothorn, I would suggest picking one steel type move and removing the other for diversity/coverage. For Scrafty, I don't think Poison Jab is necessarily needed. Jellicent may already have a good poison move. I think that Bulk Up or maybe Dragon Claw for Scrafty. Aside from that, I don't know of any other good suggestions for that team.

Hey i am going to challange my friend to a speed run. Who beats Lance first wins!.

So i wanted YOUR help. my friend's starter is cyndaquil and my other friends starter is totadile. So i have chikorita :(

So i was wondering which pokemon are handy to defeat the elite four and other gyms.

PS: i started a test round with chikorita and i tried this: Chikirita, spearow It didnt work out well. I cant get past the 1st gym 0_o (iknow)

With Chikorita, I usually go for Lapras (obliterates Lance with Ice Beam), Fearow (handy for Bruno because of Drill Peck), Ampharos (Discharge+Signal Beam = Will's team defeated), and Heracross (Brick Break for Whitney's Miltank, and can be taught Shadow Claw to beat Morty and Earthquake for some of Koga's pokemon). The sixth team member is different everytime, although I normally go for a Fire type such as Ninetales, or Umbreon.

Thanks for the help. but i was thinking isnt pidgeot a better choise? because of the slow grow rate of spearow and the faster growth rate of pidgey. and believe me that counts. but where can you find lapras? i thought you can get it in union cave on fridays only? and it is from wendsday to friday. so lapras isnt really a option here maybe a quagsire?
