Hello,
i really want to know how is my team, and what it needs. i know i dont have the best natures or Evs, but i noticed that when some of my pokemons already were at level 50.

Hello. I'm looking for suggestions on team members in HeartGold.

Current Future Members:
Modest Typhlosion
Jolly Gyarados
Timid Ampharos
Impish/Adamant Umbreon

I'm thinking of Yanmega for one, but I kind of don't want to use it, but I can't think of any other team members. And then I have no ideas for a good last member.

Seconded, though I'm gonna vote with modest. I have one myself, I'd make sure to give it Dark Pulse and a move that gets STAB bonus (likely Shadow Ball > Sludge Bomb, though the latter gives you a check for Grass types, which could be useful in certain situations). Besides those two move suggestions I have, you could probably run a couple different setups. Word of warning: Gengar's fast, but two strong physical attacks (in some cases, only one) or a supereffective can break it. A moveset with good coverage and status inducers is your best bet from my experience.

Come to think of it, I'd like to know - is the only way to minimize the impact of any defensive frailties Gengar exhibits to play up it's SpA and Speed by maxing their respective EV's?

Gengar won't be making use of extra defenses so it's best to max out SpA and Speed which is where its strengths lie. Also, there is no point in running Dark Pulse since it has the same coverage as Shadow Ball (except that it hits Normals, which is what Focus Blast covers if you run it) and does less damage due to not getting a STAB boost.

Scyther is pretty good. Comes early game ans is strong. Adamant or Jolly.

heracross is a nice fit, gives you fighting stab moves. you have a lot of special attackers, with gyarados your only physical. breloom or metagross can also be used if you can get an egg...

Shiny manaphy: Dive,surf.whirlpool,waterfall
ambipom: cut,strength,rock smash,rock climb
blaziken: skyuppercut,flareblitz,bravebird,blastburn
Sceptile : leafblade,energyball,prsuit,quickattack(lvl36)
regice: icebeam,blizzard,shock wave,?????

Lucario: earthquake,aurasphere,darkpulse,copycat
torterra: earthquake,razorleaf, leafstorm,frenzy plant

My first team

This is my first team I have spent some time on. Please give constructive comments. Thanks! :-D
(I am not done with training them yet, so I can not put EVs here. When I am done, I shall post them.)

Swampert w/Razor Claw
Nughty

Earthquake
Surf
Hammer Arm
Ice Beam

Swampert is my favorite. He has a great variety of moves, which are all strong. 2 of them hit everyone on the field, and the 2 othes are very effective. He is petty well rounded, with high attack, defense, and sp. attack, but lacking in special defense and speed.

Hydreigon w/Scope Lens
Hasty

Crunch
Dragon Pulse
Draco Meteor
Flamethrower

Hydreigon is extremely strong in Special Attack and Speed. He knows a good variety of moves, most of them being Special moves. Draco Meteor is used as a pinch move.

Arcanine w/ Leftovers
Bold

Extreme Speed
Flamethrower
Crunch
Dig

Arcanine is fast strong, and can take some hits. He is good all around, and has no big attribute (at least right now). Dig is used against any Rock types that get in my way, and extreme speed is a pinch move.

Electivire w/ Shell Bell
Naughty

Low Kick
Thunder Punch
Thunderbolt
Earthquake

Electivire is strong in both attack, special attack, and speed, but lacking in defense, special, and HP. I have 2 attacks and 2 special attacks to use if I need to. Low Kick will be used against big, heavy, strong pokemon. Earthquake is to add some variety.

Gallade w/ Expert Belt
Docile

Psyco Cut
Magical Leaf
X-Scissor
Close Combat

Gallade has extremely high attack. Because of this, he knows psyco cut, x-scissor, and close combat. The magical leaf is for water types.

Togekiss w/ Rocky Helmet
Relaxed

Fly
Psychic
Aura Sphere
Shadow Ball

Togekiss has excellent variety of moves, all being special effective against people that I don't have moves that hurt a lot against. Not much to say here though...

Ganon and Eli i picked to start because of Ganon's immunity to Electric and Ground, which makes him a very solid member of the team. Loki is intended to be a backup sweeper in tandem with Dante, as he is immune to Earthquake.
