Wow, I didn't notice that before, but it is indeed there. This might top all the others. I sympathize for the sap who believed that and tried for a Blaziken with Hydro Pump.
I claimed Squirtle.

In Pokedex from Prima, Dragonite is labeled "Dragon/Type"...
I guess they meant to put "Flying" but it wasn't edited in. Slight error, but I found it funny...

The twelve Pokémon that make the Pokémon world awesome.
Yep. My friend fell for this badly; he'd always use it in arguments. Example:
Him: (Arguing that his illogical belief of something was valid) Yeah, well, Torchic can learn Poison Sting and Bubblebeam. Weird stuff happens!
Me: *facepalm* That was a MISTAKE. It's not actually true.
Ugh.

My Official Pokémon Diamond/Pearl Pokédex Guide says that Larvitar is female only, but there are male Larvitar as well

XD Looks like that forgot to put the American names of those Abilities. I'm assuming they're Unburden and Aftermath, respectively.
...
That is a fail of epic proportions, I must say.
I frigging lol'ed. That books of yours certainly sounds helpful!
I think you guys have the same book I've got. I remember some certain PokeDex entries are used multiple times for different Pokemon and some Pokemon have movepools of other Pokemon (I can't remember which, but one Pokemon has the BMs of a different one).
Every single mention of how to evolve Wurmple. They usually say time of day or gender by those that actually look at the game's code can see it's the personality value.
Anime Characters Claimed: Mighty, Shirobon, Shout (Bomberman Jetters)

This Prima guide I bought in 2005 (which was released in 2004, a short while before Emerald's release) had errors ranging from the "Specialty balls" in RS being supposedly "untransferable" to the Gen 1 remakes, that a Pokemon inherits its IVs from a parent of the opposite gender (I actually bought that crap before joining on Bulbapedia!), and that Nincada's creation of its ghostly shell really requires an empty Pokeball in Gen 3. There are probably tons of others, but I rarely look in that piece of shit, and what I do find usually doesn't stay in my memory so much.

The moment man devoured the fruit of knowledge, he sealed his fate… Entrusting his future to the cards, man clings to a dim hope. Yet, the arcana is the means by which all is revealed. Beyond the beaten path lies the absolute end. It matters not who you are… Death awaits you - Nyx (Persona 3)
My ol' R/B/Y guidebook has a few.
It mixes up Cerulean and Celadon city... And said Sabrina was the fifth gym leader instead of Koga, even though you can do either of them first. Mixed up pictures of Pidgeotto and Pidgeot.
And my old Hoenn guide on the Pokemon themselves said Trapinch didn't evolve into Vibrava and that Huntail turned into Gorbyss.
Seriously? Seriously? Seriously? Seriously?
