Well if they did it with every pokemon I'd think it would be alot more minor than that with Spinda, and plus Spinda would still probably have another random thing to make some like darker or fatter or whatever.

Not necessarily, this is the games we're talking about here.
Just because they're making the male and female Pikachu look different in the games does not mean they'll do this in the anime.
They don't incorporate everything from the games into the anime. You've gotta keep that in mind.
Actually, I still plan on arguing that. ^^o
This doesn't change my opinion of Pikachu in anyway.
And my opinion won't change, unless of course they do incorporate this into the anime somehow and all of a sudden Hikari or someone says, "Look Ash, your Pikachu is a male".
Unless it's offically stated in the anime itself, or if we actually see all Pokemon in the anime become "genderized", I will still believe Ash's Pikachu is a female.
And on the subject of the writers and animators doing this in the anime, I hope this doesn't happen.
For one thing, I think I remember reading an interview or something that said that one of the reasons Pikachu doesn't have a set gender is so that everyone could have their own opinion about it.
Also, everyone in the anime (unless they actually know the gender of their Pokemon) always refer to their Pokemon as "it". That's the way it's been the whole time. And I hope that does not change.
I would love to hear the reasoning behind your theory...
Maybe you could make me a believer too...
(Personally I think that his Pikachuu is male)
Well, kevinsano, my theory is kinda long and I've already mentioned it many times before. ^^o
And that's why I'm directing you to this thread where I explained my whole theory in full detail:
What do you think of Pikashipping?
I agree that each nature and gender combination should have it's own sprite. Talented designers can draw these things within minutes so it's not really the work involved it's pending if what they WANT to do do.
It's not the artist, it's the space.

Speaking of space... could you make your signature images smaller, Habunake?

um please there was PLENTY of space in the old carts, and even now in the new ones...sprites like this don't take up that much space esp since we've seen DS games with full polygones enviornments.
Depending on the complexity of the graphic, a vector representation [whether flat or 3D] may even take up less space than a bitmap representation... on the other hand, the reverse is also possible.
I think it's funny, you can clip the tail for a sex change!
I think that the anime is going to ignore the game in this respect, as it would take a bit to explain. Also, it would mean that pikachu is a male, though some Japanese sites "confirm" this as well.
Surprising, that is a rather major change, unlike just spots or slight proportion change.
And spinda is unique even without spots! However I can not see the thing working as well as with spinda. Cause spinda now can not be flipped in game, it always faces your left, it can have spots anywhere on its head, on eyes or ears and all spots are same size and do not change no matter where.
I can not see this working for all pokemon. Or natures. Really, can not. Or you will get scars on eyes, blushing bottoms and other junk and then all pokemon would be impossible to mirror. Cause a scar on the left side of your face would switch sides when mirrored.
(Sorry if this has been mentioned before)
Actually, it is confirmed in the Anime. Remember the princess day episode? Pikachu was carrying bags in that episode, which pretty much confirms it.
