Dragons are cool Pokemon in my book and deserve all the praise they get. It does get annoying to run into the sheer amount of Garchomp and Salamence fanatics, true, but there are some more underused Dragons in-comparison that I like better. Dragonite for example has the very useful MultiScale, add Roost + Lefties with that and Dragonite can keep itself in good shape during battle. Its attacking power is also massive, great defenses as well. I like the concept behind the Dragon with it being bulky, yet extremely agile.(Because in rl that's an extremely hard combination to come by, you usually have to trade raw bulk for speed and vice versa.)

Next up, I actually like Hydreigon. I think it's a really cute Dragon to me, I like how it appears in the Hell's Mouth dungeon in PMD3DS. Speed could be better but that SP.ATK is just beastly. Defenses ain't bad neither. It does a good job embodying a true, firebreathing, element-using draconic monster. I like how Dragons only have two weaknesses, Ice is still a crappy weakness since there are so few bulky ice-types that can check a Dragon with ease. Plus must Dragons can learn some type of fire-breathing attack or fighting move. Steel resist Dragon, but still most Steel-types I run into are seriously dented or overrun by an Outrage regardless, plus ya know, most Dragons get Fire or Fighting anyway.

Druddigon & Altaria are the lower underrated Dragons, I really like how the former looks like a 4-year-old's lego creation with all the jagged and rough edges on its body and Altaria has that amazing Cotton Guard which 3+ its Defense in one go. That's something that can't be ignored because Altaria becomes so hard to kill with Physical moves. Toss D-Dance on there if you feel like maybe going for a sweep with it. Haxorus gets props from me for being the only fully-evolved Pure Dragon-type and one of my favorite Pokemon and being the siggy of my favorite Gym Leader since BW, Drayden. I haven't made it to the Kyurem part of BW2, so can't say. Kingdra has amazing typing. And I didn't care for the Sinnoh mascot Dragons except Giratina and I like the design of the BW Dragons and their concept. I didn't start caring about the Eon Dragons until I found out Benga had them, but looking back they are quite epic in competitively play. I personally never use Legendaries in-game nor competitively.

Kanto has one family, Johto had Kingdra, Hoenn had three, Sinnoh had one, and Unova had three. Not counting legendaries, that's only nine normal non-legendary Dragons. That's not even that many.

So, yeah, I think Dragons more than deserve their status.

The title of most overrated Dragon goes to Charizard

Dragons are powerful! They are only resisted by Steel, and most of them pack a Fire, Ground or Fighting move to cover up. They are statistically the best, and their stats are almost always well-rounded. Plus, they resist Water, Fire, Electric and Grass (this is more of a problem in-game). They are the cream of the crop, even thoiugh they are not the only ones of course. The overrated factor comes a lot from the anime, where most of them are depicted unbeatable.Even the weaker ones like Altaria/Flygon pack a whallop in-game.

I've got a scum result on that bush! LYNCH IT LYNCH IT LYNCH IT!

I've not too bothered by Dragons, mainly because their secondary types are often weak to Ice too which helps when one gives me problems. I've lost count of how much times I've blasted a Garchomp with a well aimed Ice Shard during an Outrage.
I have claimed the Spell Tag and Kasib Berry, along with Adaptability and Shadow Ball. I have also claimed Gastly.

If you think Nintendo need to sue PETA up the ass for making Pokemon Black and Blue, copy and paste this into your sig.

They are overhyped. But maybe not that powerful...

I used an event Garchomp with good stats and good moves at the PWT. If Dragons should be all powerful, then why isn't my Garchomp KO'ing every pokemon in its way, but ends up getting killed on the first turn from a Flare Blitz?

They're the same as other pokemon. They get killed. They get paralyzed. They get infatuated. Dragons don't deserve the god treatment since they're as vulnerable as any other pokemon.

I enjoy dragons. They don't tend to evolve until later - some players hate this but I think it's fair, as it means you have to put the work in to get an amazing result. Their majestic designs have all appealed to me with the singular exception of Druddigon. And I like that they're harder to get than most pokemon - I'm a typical collector geek who enjoys the 'exclusivity' factor :3

(I only wish the world and his wife didn't feel the need to spam random matchup with so. many. friggin. Garchomp. It's n00bish and I hate it. There are other pokemon. Like, over 600 of em. -__- /rant)

I breed egg move pokes & DW females.

I think Dragon-type Pokemon are very overrated. Having to battle them takes the fun out of the game. Plus I hate how it's the type of choice for many Champions. I hope the Generation VI Champion isn't a Dragon-type specialist. I couldn't bear Iris and her Dragon Dance/Outrage combo.

I have a Flygon in my Black 2, but I'm using it for its Ground type as opposed to its Dragon type. Basically, Flygon and Altaria are the only Dragons I like, and in their case it's because they're not as nooby as, say, Dragonite or Garchomp.

Would like to point out that it's a Pokémon, a Dragon-Type, but not a literal dragon, so it isn't bound by the same rules applied to it in our universe.
They just didn't do it very well; it looks kind of dopey. The dragons I create for my books have hair anf feathers, based on the theories that dinosaurs may have been feathered, but it enhances their design. It doesn't just stick up everywhere and make them look like gnawed-on sewer rats.

Charizard is not a Dragon. He just looks like one.
He's an implied dragon. Like, he's not a dragon because pokemon can only have two types. Kind of like how Noctowl is an implied psychic-type, or Psyduck (although he's just water so there's nothing holding him back) and Lugia is an implied water-type.

Not overrated, just overhyped or something like that.

Because sure, most of them is really powerful, but I don´t like the idea of having team full of pseudolegendaries. It would be really boring. (Unless I came across an ice-type trainer or so). Yes, one of them may bring variability to the team but I´d rather use my favourites than have team which is just powerful. Not saying that favourites cannot be powerful, I really like my Garchomp in Platinum but then I´ve realized that I was using her almost everywhere and neglecting the others, so I haven´t have Garchomp in my team since.

And then they´re those dragons, who aren´t so overhyped, just as Flygon, which are more used because its other typing that dragon, where the dragon typing just covers some weaknesses (or at least I had Flygon once just because I needed a ground-type) and I like them more.

In conclusion, dragons are okay, many of them look very good, but I don´t like the attitude of some people who think it´s nothing better than dragon types. (And I really enjoy having one quite strong poké with ice-type move in my team and feeling like dragon-buster while defeating them. Now I realized I think I quite understand Georgia.)

If I make some stupid grammar mistake, I´m terribly sorry and feel free to correct me.

I don't think the dragon type is overpowered. If anything, it's the pokemon themselves that are, not their type. They have wide movepools, and generally epic stats, as many have said. The type itself is not that great aggressively, considering it's only effective against itself, which makes it a double-edged sword to use on any dragon type. Furthermore, it's ineffective against steel, which is a very popular defensive type. Defensively, dragon is a good type, but hardly any of them have the right stat distribution for defensive use.

I think it's the dragons themselves who are powerful. And I think this is quite fitting, so I'm not complaining. Though they're not necessarily any better than non-dragon pokemon, and you can counter them easily enough, provided you have the right pokemon. So, yeah, I reckon they're okay as they are.

One of the reasons why steel types are so widely used is dragon types. And only being resisted by Steel is irrelevant because it does neutral damage to everything else, makingi t very powerful. Considering that GF went out of their way to nerf the type in Gen 6...
