Thread: Do you use X items?

Yes, I always buy a lot, especially for unusual challenges or runs. You never know when you might badly need a boost to one of your stats, and they can quickly turn a bad situation for your team into a full enemy team sweep.

i never did. doesn't really work well with my battle style.

Very rarely. I have never really found them useful so I tend not to use them and toss them.

I guess the Wonder Launcher should be mentioned here, too.

Reason being the upgrades to the X items there, which are far more useful in battle and allow for plenty of strategies. In particular things like X Special 3 are very useful, given the lack of distribution of moves to sharply (or drastically, which only two pokemon can) raise that stat. This gives a new edge to special sweepers they didn't have before.

Of course, this is a battling system with Max Revives and Full Restores, but these upgrades absolutely makes the X items more attractive.


I always wondered though if they would've done better in-game if they had the second upgrade, where they'd sharply raise stats instead... but that would've made them too broken. (And given they aren't really needed in-game much, pointless) So if anything they'd have been find-only items.

Never. They're not worth the turn, IMO. I just end up selling them.

NEVER. I usually just use special moves, if my Pokemon has one and if I really have to. They just stay in my bag...never to be touched. I should sell them, I really shpuld...

Nope. The only time I use them is to stall when I accually WANT for my Pokemon to be defeated. But thats only in the case I want another Pokemon to get all the experience.

You're better off using the turn it takes to use them to attack.

I rarely use them. When I've used X items it has usually been used if I think the stat is much lower than the opponent's and my Pokémon has enough health to not faint during the turn.

No. I sell them for money to buy things that heal my pokemon

I sometimes use them. especially in situations where I perfectly know the opponent (in-game, at least) will use a Full Restore on the nxt turn, I use an X item. Then it won't be a waste of turn. :)
