In Japanese R/G, if you evolve your starter before getting the Pokedex, you won't be able to receive it.

Also in R/B, if you talk to the Weedle-catching old man when you have a full Pokemon box selected, you'll need to reset your game because the full box won't let the old man use his Pokeball but he'll keep trying infinitely.

In R/B/Y, if you use strength on the truck next to the SS Anne, there will be a Mew underneath it...

i think pikablu was supposedly marril.

DId you know that, Reshiram and Zekrom are the names of Mascotts of Black and White and these names will be international (means it won't be changed)

That Charizard & Golduck are the same height. They're both 5'7". I could swear Charizard was much larger than that & that Golduck was, at most, a foot shorter.

On that note, Venusaur (which generally appears much smaller) is listed at 6'07" where as Charizard (Which generally appears much bigger) is listed at only 5'07" an entire foot smaller than Venusaur.

Uh, not exactly... several had their names changed, such as Shaymin (Sheimi) and Zapdos (Thunder).

That Clefairy was originally meant to be the Pokemon Franchise's mascot, but due to the popularity of Ash's Pikachu, this was rethought.

Actually, Pikachu was chosen as the mascot before the anime started airing. Clefairy was considered to be the mascot at some point, but since Nintendo was worried a fairy may become controversial, they went with Pikachu instead.

Ash starting with Pikachu was a result of that decision. Indeed, if Clefairy had ended up being chosen as the mascot, this would've meant Ash would've started with a Clefairy instead.
