Thread: Clever Pokémon Nicknames

I wasn't a fan of nicknames before, but now I enjoy giving some nice ones to some of my pokemon, though I don't always find original ones for each of them.

Few examples of nicknames I've given:

My Sceptile in Emerald is called Treehugger.
The Mankey I just got in my new FireRed game is nicknamed Porkchop.

This is from my Emerald game:
Blaziken- Spicy [very unoriginal name]
Azumarill- Pikablue [also very unoriginal and mundane]
Manectric- Raiko [it sounds cool for the only "cool" electric type in Gen III]
Tropius- Bananas
Sableye- Darkness
Mightyena- Poochy
Linoone- Ziggy
Rayquaza- GoGreen
Castform- Uncensored

In Sapphire, I named my Kyogre Sapphire. I then traded it into Ruby, then traded it back to Sapphire.

On Pearl, I have the following:

Marluxia the Roserade
Lexaeus the Golem
Xaldin the Staraptor
Luxord the Luxray
Demyx the Floatzel

Blackie - Umbreon
Venenum - Muk
Lau- Gengar

I don't have any nicknames right now, and I can't remember the nicknames I used to have.

But who else plans on nicknaming their Red Gyrados something corny like 'Big Red'?

My Platinum team:

Torterra - Tortuga.

I called it that on my Diamond too. It's a pretty obvious one anyway.

Jolteon - Myollnir.

There's a lightning spell on Breath of Fire 3 called Myollnir, so I named it after that.

Machamp - Batista.

Back when I got Diamond, I had a massive phase of watching wrestling, and I named him after the wrestler. xD

Blastoise - Poseidon.

Obvious reasons.

Houndoom - Karen.

It took me ages to find a Houndour, and the first one I found was female, so I caught it and named it after the G/S/C E4, Karen.

Gardevoir - Aphrodite.

My Gardevoir in Sapphire was called that, and I'd heard it had something to do with a beauty goddess or something. I thought the name was cool, so I named it her again on Platinum.

Bronzong - Liberty (its a key site-see where im from)

Ursaring - Big O (cause its show time)

I named my shiny Staraptor "Mike" which is the name of my real pet parrot.

Floatzel - Demyx

Hiko the male Infernape (From Chimchar's japanese name)
Leona the female Luxray (From Leo, Latin for lion)
Rosa the female Roserade (From rose)
Shell the male Gastrodon (One half slugs being mollusks and one half Wicked on the brain)
EmoHawk the female Staraptor (Appearance)/HM SLAVE the um... I think male... Bidoof (From HM SLAVE's role)
Satoshi the male Lucario (From the anime, believe it or not. It was one part lazyness, one part fangirlness, and one part giggle at the whole Riolu speculation.)

I usually don't nickname my Pokemon, but in Blue I named my Gengar Ouija.

When I get my Regigigas I'll name him Jetfire. Why? Because he's stuck in a mausoleum, you have to solve a puzzle to wake him up and it takes the old timer a bit to get his act together. So yeah, Jetfire seems to suit him.

I nickname all of my Pokémon... but I think I'll be selecting the ones that I actually remember the names of XD

Misdreavus ♀: Pearl
