Homika is awesome and badass. Everything about her. And it's been since the first games we've had a poison specialist, despite they having gotten stronger.

I'm looking forward to see both her gym and her involvement with the story. Probably the character I'm happier about.


The water gym dude though... he is from an overdone gym type, and looks like a generic surfer swimmer guy. I mean, when even Brawly stands out more than you, there is a problem.

I hope there's finally a Dark gym, because otherwise I'm going to blame him having taken up the spot.

Achroma is definitely an antagonist - no doubt about it. CoroCoro said that he is mysterious and "hard to read" - and he looks to be so.

I think I have to agree with you on this part. These doesn't seem to be something great for a particular character, and I think he also looks the part of an antagonist. If he's not for some reason, well, we have another curveball.

I could see him working independently kinda like Eusine in crystal/hgss. Being obsessed with kyurem inventing a device to change its appearance and formulating his wardrobe around it.

Of the two, Homika is easily the more intruiging. I said so in the anime forum, but as the presumed 'first gym leader' of the game, it's pretty cool that we're getting a more colourful leader right off the bat, compared to the past ones like Brock, Roark and co, who were always considerably more 'normal' in contrast to the rest.
Plus, Scolipede guitar is rockin'.

Not really all that fond of Shizui though. Just looks like your regular swimmer dude to me, which is a bit of a step back from the last water type user, a friggin' luchadore of all things. Big shoes to fill there.
Am I the only one who wants a crusty old sea dog for a water type gym leader? You know the type. Wears a yellow fishing coat with the hood permanently over his head. Possible hook for a hand that he scrapes against glass to get everyone's attention. Always blathering on about the elusive shiny Wailord.

So now I looked at the clear scan of Unova BW2! and tried to count the Cities we encounter !And it seems pretty linear again!

Starter town, town to get to know the game(with a little plot),long route, Water gym leader town,underwater tunnel, Castelia, chaos on route 4, Nimbasa, Driftveil, Mistralton flying to East unova city with Poison girl gym, than heading to route 12 and Village bridge and than to Opelucid city!
*Think the water gym will be full of Tympole!
*Eventually I can see Hokomoki take over Nimbasa, cause it's a city for stars and Elesa could on tour!


The only thing bugging me is WHY reveal all the new GL so "soon" ? there must be coming some new stuff and something else!

Putting that together with the word "Aku" having the meaning evil/wickedness....yeah, they couldn't telegraph this more if they were trying.

I've seen some people romanising his name as either "Akuroma" or "Achroma". Do we have any idea which one is the correct one?

Other than that though, I do agree that he is a villain. Just making us doubt that he's an ally is enough to spell it out to us that he's a bad guy.

I don't really like the poison gym leader, but as long as she doesn't replace Skyla, I couldn't really care less.

As for Blaquaman, I'm neutral. Interesting to see what pokémon he has (if Octillery, he's automatically bro-tier).

Well, the literal rendering of the kana is Akuroma, but Achroma seems to be the intended spelling given it's meaning of colorless, considering the entire "black and white" morality themes of Gen V.
