Dirty jokes aside about stimulating Pokemon...I think the theory that he created a device that changes a Pokémon's ability to their hidden ability has more evidence.

The characters seem to be discussed diffusely around the forum along with other topics, so I'm just making this thread for us to discuss them more in general. Anyone willing to translate to see if anything's new?

Rival

I google translated the name, apparently it just says rival? Does this mean we name him?

Homika
Again, nothing we already don't know. It would be nice though if there were new trainer sprites based on musicians and those trainer classes were Homika's gym trainers. There does seem to be a trainer to the right of Homika with her back facing you.

Shizui
I think the one interesting thing revealed here is that Shizui is encountered in a town that seems reminiscent of Pacifidlog, or at least part of the city is built on the ocean since the water to the right seems shallow. I'd much rather he had two artworks: one with a tan for the summer months, one without a tan when its colder.

I'm guessing they just named the characters in the screen shot Black 2 and Rival? I don't know why people didn't go for that as temporary PC names and resorted to using "Blaze" and "Sparkles"

About the names, I'll be calling the rival Spike until they reveal his true name. Don't care about the player characters.

"What could the reason for his passionate thoughts be? As the older brother he keeps the thoughts of his little sister close."

This sentence makes me hope there's more depth to his character, and that we'll find out in this generation rather than waiting two generations to learn stuff about our past rivals *coughSilvercough*

I know this seems morbid, but saying "the thoughts of his little sister" makes me think she's dead D:
(Or maybe had parents who divorced and one took the sister away...)

Nice. This sentence does not sound like something a derp guy would say. Jun in all DPP games never said something that "deep" haha

The girl isn't wearing a skirt. She's actually wearing shorts, but the shorts are frilly. You can see what looks like a pant leg

Betting Homika has a Koffing. I just noticed the stage in the background shows Koffing (better view in the Vs. sprite image)

We have our first tanned character, and as far as I know, Homika is our first freckled character. Nice to see Game Freak being less generic.
