I'm actually starting to believe that the reason Shizui has such a contrast between light skin and dark tanned skin is just that, a contrast between light/dark and Black/White. Considering the theme of these games I wouldn't be surprised if thats what GF went for.

If you ask me though they didn't really have to do that in regards to his tan line. Blatant symbolism can backfire or not come off as well as subtle symbolism can.

That's what I assumed to, a lame attempt at symbolism.

Anyway ~43s on the trailer, we see Shizui holding his Pokeballs in a fishing net? I guess he kind of gets some cool points back. Oh and his artwork seems to show him having wet hair D:

He will not be one of the earlier ones.
There are Ace Trainers in his gym. There are not Ace Trainers in early gyms.

Based on the trailer, I am almost certain Musicals are gone and instead we'll be filming movies :3

Maybe its a tournament of some sort? He is supposed to be studying Pokémon strengths--whatever that means. Or maybe the graduation ceremony to Pokémon school.

It's in the trailer ~1:05 in. Now we don't know for sure its his gym, but its water themed, and he's a water leader so that's the best bet. It's entirely possible Ace Trainers just suck in his gym :P

Though given there are swimmers, it doesn't make sense why they weren't used unless this was a hint at his power.

I hope your right. After they failed in BW they need to be replaced with something much better. I'd love making Pokemon movies.

Perhaps hes trying to find potential hidden abilities through battles or observing trainer battles. I wonder if certain Pokemon will have some sort of "potential" that he can utilize.
