Thread: Which is the better remake?

I would say FRLG is the better remake. It's more of a remake then HGSS is. Plus it has Leaf, the most win-filled character in all of gamedom.

HGSS has a lot of enhances. I would compare it to Harvest Moon: Back to Nature/For Girl and Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town/More Friends of Mineral Town.

It's more of an enhanced port, though I still think of it as a remake.

even though i never played hg/ss it has wifi and you can get more exclusives without a trade cable, when in fr/lg, you can't get any hoenn pokemom without another game

I'd say FRLG, since the hype of HGSS is really turning me off to the game, yes, even before I've played it. I need to hear an opinion from someone who is BRAND NEW to the Pokemon games, not nostalgic fans who still claim GSC was the best.

Though all the retcons in HGSS only make me want to further my theory that Gen 2/4 aren't happening at the same time. Ah, it's a same plot of sorts, but different characters. Maybe. I don't know.

Okay, I'll bite. Why in the name of StarClan do you think this?

You would prefer to listen to the opinions of people who have only played HGSS (And thus have nothing to compare it too) instead of people who have played all the games and thus know what they are talking about?

I'm with the previous two posters. This made no sense.

A Japanese fan who had never played a Pokemon game before playing HGSS would probably not be old enough to think about posting their opinion about it. And if they did it would probably be extremely n00b.

What I meant is that there is HIGH bias for HGSS. Because GSC was overly loved, of course HGSS will be "omg the bestest remake evar". Any hype of sort turns me off to a game. I was excited for HGSS when I heard they were being made. But as soon as I joined this forum, and see the handful of GSC/HGSS worship going on here, I just lost interest.

Even you all have to admit, that HGSS is getting way more hype than it deserves.

No we don't. :| Having PLAYED it, I can say it was not over hyped.

And just because you dislike Johto/GSC doesn't mean that the amount of people who DO like it is too many. seeing your other posts, you like Hoenn, which is fine, but you seem to be against people liking another region/game/generation. People have different opinions. Please stop trying to push yours onto us.

The people blowing out of context about how others "worship" HGSS and GSC piss me off a lot more. Honestly the HGSS/GSC fans are a lot more tolerable than the ones crying about them. Most of the people pointing out flaws seem to act as if fans are attacking them when simply they're just challenging views. Not everyone likes the Vs.Seeker. Not everyone loves contests.

I agree, but there has been a lot more stuff added to HeartGold and SoulSilver than there was added to FireRed and LeafGreen. Even though the original Kanto games didn't have as much as the original Johto games.

I know these Johto remakes were long anticipated, so people waiting for them have been excited about them, but certain people on Sppf were going crazy back when all we saw were A FEW SCREENSHOTS OF THE MALE PROTAGONIST IN NEW BARK TOWN. (And the starters. Stuff like that) Yes, they were the first screenshots, but even so... in general, many people have been acting like these games are going to be Pokemon revolutions or something.

I'll say it again, I only met a few people who acted that way. Besides you're always going to get those kinds of people. Of course I won't deny that people did go crazy, but I'm starting to get tired of people over-generalizing the "some" to "many." Perhaps it's because I don't go to Sppf often but the only people I've seen use the words "second coming" or "revolution" were the ones complaining about the aniticipation.

I also haven't seen these mythical, mysterious creatures that consider the game a second coming whom everyone rants about.

I had a lot more fun playing HGSS than I did FRLG, and said fun lasted a lot longer too.

Now let's see how long before I get lynched as a 'fanboy' for having a legitimate opinion.

Hey, if you enjoyed it no one can fault you.

The games were given so much hype because the fans wanted these games. We've been predicting them for years. So, yeah, no duh we were excited. And the games turned out just as good as we had hoped. Well, as I hoped.

Did anyone ever consider HGSS a "revision" than a "remake"?
