Re: Answer that Pokemon trivia
I think Shinx. It's somewhat based on the sphinx.

Correct! Your turn :D
Alright. Which Gen IV Pokemon is based on an Ancient Egyptian god of the dead?
Err, Lucario?
Re: Answer that Pokemon trivia
...Isn't an anubis a mythical Egyptian half-man half-beast, not a god?

This is from Bulbapedia:

Lucario appears to be based on the Egyptian god of funerals, Anubis, who has the head of a jackal. Anubis's role in Egyptian mythology was to judge the hearts of deceased souls based on their actions during life. -Bulbapedia
Re: Answer that Pokemon trivia
Oh. Well, I think the sphinx is supposed to be a god related to death as well. It's a creature that has the body of a lion, but the head of a Pharaoh's coffin.

The sphinx isn't known as a deity, as far as I know, but rather an Egyptian and Greek mythological creature. The Egyptian sphinx (which you are referring to,) was seen as some kind of Guardian. The Greek sphinx, which was typically female and doesn't physically resemble the popular concept of sphinx's, is the one known for asking riddles. In neither of these mythologies is the sphinx considered a deity.
Re: Answer that Pokemon trivia
...
I must know absolutely nothing about Egypt. Thanks for making me feel stupid... (I know none of you meant to though)

That is the answer I was looking for, yes. Your turn!

24 hours have passed...so I'll post.
Name 2 moves as of Generation V learned by TM that is also learned by level up by only one Pokémon. Hint: There's a possible answer in the far reaches of our Generations.

I will clarify, the question was meant to ask about two examples of one TM learned via level up by one Pokémon, but you are correct! Buneary learns Frustration at Level 13, while Return is learned by Lopunny at the same level (it's a reflection of how its trainer raised the Pokémon). Other examples include Trick Room for Porygon-Z as a Start move, Emolga learning Volt Switch at Level 42 and Sawk learning Rock Smash as a Start move.
Your move, Kaiba.
