Thread: The amount of letters of your name?

This is why I go by Tina in-game -- online/offline too, but it started with Pokémon -- rather than my full name. I have a double-barrel first name and even if you cut off the second half it divides into eight and five.

EDIT: failed to mention my rl name's Kristina-Leigh.

My real name has 7 letters, but I always name myself "Taio" in the games.

Its tough to beat Brendan and May for names. Seriously. Even when you get into Sinnoh and whatnot I don't have a problem with seeing the male character addressed as Brendan

I've often had this problem (since my full first name is 9 letters long and I didn't settle on a nickname I liked until last year), so until Black and White I almost always named my character either her default name or some random name I liked.

Well I usually just name my char my youtube name for when I hunt shiny pokemon

I've personally only had issues with this a couple of times, when using filler names for replaying some of the games. But yes, I do think that it's a bit ridiculous at this point that there are more character spaces alloted for the Pokémon names than for the player's name. Memory space isn't nearly that much of a constraint (even NPCs have more space for their names).

Nope. That's never happened to me before. Mostly because I just use my real name (Ben). The only exceptions so far are LeafGreen (Anders), and White (Alexi).

Mine is 5 letters, but I always name the player characters their default names because I'm that creative.

My real name has 8 letters, so I use my pen name in all games: Mitsuko. It fits perfectly to the limit then.

My real name has 7 letters so that would have never been a problem for me, but I never use my real name in the games anyway. When i first got Diamond I named the girl Dawn and in Emerald I named her May. Then when I got FR I named the boy Ash. Starting with Platinum I picked only the girl character and I always named her Hikari, my RP character's name.

My real name has only five letters, and thats usually the one I pick. But I had problems when I tried to call my character 'Anastazia' in Black.

I'm fine. My name is short enough for the character limit.
Of course, sometimes I don't really use my name in games often. I normally use some variation of a Latin/Greek/whatever word. For example, I had a character named Aquoris, another named Chalybs, another Zief, another Kate, another Thrylia.

My full name is only six letters long, but I tend to go with a shortened two :D
