Look at my tiny avatar and right-aligned signature.
Gaze upon them and tremble, for they are good.
Grass, Ice and Ghost :)
Steel is also pretty cool but there aren't that many :(
I like a lot ground types, but also like water, grass, fire, dark and of course, dragon
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor Shall be lifted nevermore!!

Fire, because many of the fire types look really cool.
Metalcore for life~ :3
I've always liked ice types.
My favorite shinies. :3
I'd have to say Electric. It has very few type weaknesses, and contains a large variety of loveable Pokemon, like Ampharos, Electivire, and Rotom.

Ground-type.
I just tend to use it alot.
I ran the now-defunct Claim-a-Move Thread. I also claimed Lightning Strike, Marshtomp, Motor Drive, Magic Guard, and Azure Flute (probably also expired, but who cares, as long as you know that I'm the ruler of everything).
In the 2012 era, I have unfairly won America*'s Warrior Cats Mafia (and a few ones before).
Fighting of course. I have an anthropomorfic team.

I picked a few, for various reasons:
Dark: This one is included because many of my favorite Pokémon (appearance-wise) are of the Dark-type. Weavile, Umbreon, Sazandora, and Tyranitar are just a few. Dark also gets Pursuit, Sucker Punch, and Punishment (a fantastic move when used correctly).
Ice: I tend to run offensive teams, and Ice is probably the offensive type I find most useful. It gets one of the best priority moves in Ice Shard, and the freeze condition makes legendary Pokémon so much easier to capture. A few of my favorites are Glaceon, Froslass, Glalie and Mamoswine.
Grass: Yes, Grass. This type doesn't get a lot of recognition, but it has some very useful qualities. It gets the ability to use, and immunity from, Leech Seed. Hitting bulky Waters super effectively is always nice, too. Grass-type Pokémon can play a great variety of roles, from offensive to defensive to just plain annoying (and here I am referring specifically to Elfuun). Jalorda, Nattorei, Shaymin-S, and Torterra are the ones I like best.
Normal: Another unorthodox choice, the Normal-type often gets ignored but is actually very useful. It makes good use of STAB with only three types that take reduced damage from it (two of which are weak to Fighting and Ground), and it has an excellent immunity to Ghost-type moves. Like Grass-types, Normal-types can play a very diverse amount of roles. My favorites are Porygon-Z, Staraptor, Meloetta-Step and Buffalon.
Current activity: Playing through Platinum for the first time.

Water is my favorite, but I also like Poison and Bug.
Water. Always has been, always will be. It had nothing to do with Misty; I was drawn to Blastoise and the fact that it was a type with only two weaknesses.
I choose ground, altough water and dark are close behind.
Its the Dragon and Steel types for me. Dragon types have good stats and Steel types have excellent defense and a rather high attack. After these come Dark, Ground and Fighting, mainly for wide type coverages. Dark has pretty high attack stats. Ground and Fighting are kinda balanced and has lots of super effectives. So yeah. It all five of them for me
