I've recently come across a Japanese website for unusual names (they call them idiot names) and one kid was actually named "Rugia", Lugia. Oo Poor kid.

Roselia sounds nice to me and I loved the name Evie as a child, so Eevee isn't that hard to consider.

I would not name my child after a character or a Pokémon... Purposely. As in, I would never name my child after the thing itself; rather, I've never been afraid to consider using or modifying names I like regardless of the thing going by it - for example, I've always loved the name Yuna for a girl but I would consider it a dick move to name a daughter that after the character herself. They are their own person, why would you give them the name of another person/a Pokémon purely out of liking the namesake even if it's an unrealistic name? Seems a little bit unfair to me, like you're undermining their identity to pay homage to something you like. D:

No. Seems like an awful idea to be honest. It'd be like naming your kid Clark when your last name's Kent. It just open's him up to endless teasing and no child should have to go through that.

My pets perhaps, but not my kids. I'd just go for human character names instead.

No matter what you name your kid, name calling and teasing exists EVERYWHERE in EVERY kind. Even if you name your child with the most common, simple names such as John, Jack, Amy, or Sally, classmates could make fun of those names. If the name is exotic, it still gets troubled in any sort of way.

A pokemon name? I guess that's the worst kind of teasing anyone would have to go through. At least Clark Kent is a 'normal' name, and Superman is a well known hero loved by all ages - people won't mind that sort of name when the child grows up. Pokemon names are a different matter. We wouldn't want a child named Pikachu, and have kids include the word 'volt tackle' or 'thunderbolt' when they're talking to him/her. Even after the child grows up, it's going to be hard to get a job with that sort of name. People won't take him/her seriously.

Roselia, Altaria, Eevee, they sound plausible. Although with Eevee, some spelling change might be wanted. Of course Aron works, it sounds exactly like Aaron. Bellossom sounds like Blossom, which some people are actually called (including a Powerpuff Girl). Blissey and Chansey don't sound too bad, just like nicknames for people called Bliss and Chance. Paras isn't too bad, sounds like Paris (although people may associate that with Paris Hilton which would be bad).

Maybe not a pokemon... i can see myself naming my kid Ash.
If you can't tell from my name, I love Lanturn. I also love the 3rd gen. I feel 4th and 5th are unoriginal. Just my opinion, don't hate.

Maybe I'd name them after human characters in the games/anime but no, not Pokemon. O.o

I agree with this, there are some fantastic HUMAN names in Pokemon. But still, some are way out there.. For example, who would actually call their child "N"?

Altaria sounds awesome to me. Jalorda (Serperior's Japanese name) may also work.
