Hmmm, it's a Shark that's shaped like a torpedo. Let's call it... Torpeshark... no, wait... Sharpedo!
A lot of deep thought went into that name...

Scyther- I can't fucking remember how to spell it half of the time
Yeah, but it's based on the real word "scythe." Which, granted, isn't exactly phonetically spelled.
If it helps, here's the etymology:
scythe
O.E. siðe, sigði, from P.Gmc. *segithoz (cf. M.L.G. segede, M.Du. sichte, O.H.G. segensa, Ger. Sense), from PIE base *sek- "cut" (see section). The sc- spelling crept in early 15c., from influence of L. scissor "carver, cutter" and scindere "to cut." The verb is from 1597.

My least favourite name is Exeggcute (and honestly I almost never write it right). I mean does it come from executor or from cute eggs? But in my mother language all pokemon names sound good so I don`t have a problem with them.
I love the name 'Typhlosion'.
I think that one comes from "execute" (with a bonus pun on "cute eggs," which they aren't...) while Exeggutor comes from "executor."
I always thought "Eggsecute" and "Eggsecutor" would be better, but then they'd be just as hard to spell as well as missing out on having an X. ("X" automatically makes any word 40% cooler.)

Gallade, I mean, what the hell? It's name doesn't make sense in any way, and its a stupid name too.
Worst- Staravia. Sounds like a russian town imo.
Best- Feraligatr. Realy its a good name. Feral gator.
All of the best are the ones kept from the Japanese. The worst, of course, is Lickylicky. Berobelt was such a funny gag in movie 10.
Lickylicky is the worst name.
Probopass is the worst looking, it's ridiculous.
