Thread: What's Your Favorite Pokemon Region?

I like Sinnoh, Unova and Johto the most. Johto has a special place in my heart, but Sinnoh's myths and geography was something I really enjoyed. Unova of course is now the most interesting region, since it's so new. But I might go with Sinnoh, really loved that region.
Never liked Hoenn much, unlike the most of you. Kanto is just so boring and already seen region.

Much as I like the tropical feel of Hoenn (Route 120's one of my favourite places), for me it has to be Johto. Reason being, I liked the temperate climate and the geography

I'm really liking Unova so far. So that's where my vote went~

Johto is probably my least favourite.. Sinnoh has likeable gym leaders; Unova has my new favourite 'mon (Emonga); Hoenn is huge and diverse with plenty to do and explore (and also Steven~)..
Yet, I'd have to say Kanto. Not only does it have a lot of my favourite Pokémon and characters, it just had a really nice feel to it.

Before Unova, it was probably a tie between Hoenn and Sinnoh, but now it's Unova. I love Hoenn and Sinnoh for the diverse enviroments, Pokemon, and characters, but now I love Unova more, as it has better enviroments, Pokemon and characters. I don't like Kanto much because it wasn't that interesting, but I dislike Johto even more, because it's even less interesting, and extremely short.

I would have gone with Hoenn, but the memories of all those Tentacool on the water routes killed it...
Sinnoh was great, but I never really got too into it, for two reasons:

1. I hate the cold
2. I only played through it 1.5 times (compared to several from other regions, not counting Unova of course)

Johto was nice, and it had some of my favorite Pokémon, but it seemed quite cramped to me.
I always got cities confused when going in Kanto, and I just generally don't like them anyway. The Pokémon were good, but some were rather bland. The only locations I really liked were Lavender Town and Cinnabar Island.

I love the diversity in Unova, and the Pokémon are some of my favorite since Johto. Although some can be kind of... questionable.

My favorite region is definitely Hoenn, because I adore tropical and rural places.

Johto for sure! I like the more Japanese feel it has, and since Gen. II was the only one that I had EVERY game in, I sure saw a lot of Johto. It also looks absolutely beautiful in HG/SS.

I don't get why people like Hoenn so much. I honestly dislike it quite a bit. I didn't like many of its Pokemon, I thought there were too many water routes (not to mention all you could really find on those routes were Tentacool and more annoying Tentacool), and it just never appealed to me. I do like that it's big, though.

Sinnoh is my favorite. I enjoyed most of the cities, Mt. Coronet, the Battle Zone, the three lakes were a nice touch, and you don't have to rely on Surf a lot like like in other regions. I don't mind having to use Surf sometimes, but not as much as you have to in, say, Hoenn or Kanto. Johto and Unova were fine though. Anyway, I also really enjoyed Sinnoh's Underground. I can dig down there for hours and not get bored. I was always interested in what I'd find next, be it a few sphreres or a very rare Rare Bone or Max Revive. And Sinnoh has lots of awesome Pokemon.

As for how I rank all five regions:

1. Sinnoh
2. Unova/Kanto
3. Johto
4. Hoenn

I can't choose whether I like Unova or Kanto more, because Unova has such lovely routes, scenery, music, and cities and all, not to mention high level Pokemon in the Giant Chasm, but Kanto has the Sevii Islands and the Seafoam Islands, which I liked a lot. I just hope Pokemon Chrome gives Unova a Battle Frontier.

Hoenn is a tropical Island chain what do you expect? Of course ther is going to be lots of water routes and there's a snazzy littleitem called repel it's only 50 bucks more expensive and removes random encounters... so why complain?

I wouldn't call it an island chain. There's only one large landmass and a few small ones. Also, I would use repels, except I also want to train for gym battles. But, I don't want to see only Tentacool. Gamefreak could've easily added more Pokemon to those routes on the water surface.

I agree on this. They could've had some Carvanha, Goldeen, Horsea, Marill, Wailmer... There could easily be Flying types, as well, on some of the routes a bit closer to land.

I started in the old days of Gen 1 and Kanto feels more like my home from home than any other region ^^

Hoenn!!! The whole region is so pretty and calming.
