Thread: What's Your Favorite Pokemon Region?

Well...

Okay, there are FIVE main Pokemon regions in the world.

They are [in order]: Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova. Sevii Islands doesn't count. Because there are no official cities, league, etc. Same for Orre, Almia, Fiore, etc.

Then you explain why that region is your favorite. Is it because of the Pokemon that reside in that region? Is it because of it's climate. Or because of it's cities and geographical features?

Here's my thought:

Hoenn...

For me it is easily my favorite Region. I love the diversity that Hoenn has that most other PokeRegions don't have. It has a more humid environment. It introduced deserts to the games, it brought most of my favorite Pokemon. I love Hoenn's cities. From the urban feel of Rustboro City to the tropical paradise of Dewford to the mystical wonderful city of Sootopolis. Hoenn, really, is a beautiful region.

My favorite is definitely Kanto; being the original region that I 'explored'. I was also quite a bit younger than I am now and as a first experience I couldn't have enjoyed it more.

As far as the pokemon in it I have found it hard to move on from them, the pokemon within this region are my favorite by far. Again, I think because it's the first pokemon I battled an trained with. Memories and nostalgia have been too kind to them despite how annoying that E4 was back in the day!

Johto.

I first started off by playing Red, and I loved it, so I got Gold on release, and my brother, who had never played Pokémon, got Silver. The 2 hour drive home from our cousins house I remember being intense, as we both tried to speed through our new games.

Also, it has the best Pokémon.

Hoenn is my favorite region because it has heaps of Pokemon that I like. I also love the cities and locations for the same reasons mentioned in the first post.

Hoenn is a beautiful region. It has a lot more diversity than previous regions and even later regions.

People give Gen 3 a hard time, but it did give us some great environments.

What I love about Hoenn is the great people-and-nature bonds that you see, such as the treehouse town of Fortree, and the raft village of Pacifidlog. There aren't quite as many huge, industrial towns, and that's what makes it unique. Also gives you some contrast between the people who are happily adapted to the world and the people who want to create extreme changes to it [Team Aqua and Team Magma].

Second favorite region might me Sinnoh, because they have a lot of cool local folklore, and a mountain that leads to the Hall of Origin. It's like Mount Olympus!

Hoenn, for sure.

It's so diverse and just simply amazing. It's got awesome Pokémon, a ton of interesting locations and it's very complex.

My favourite is Hoenn

I like the tropical climate of it, and all the different places. I liked having a volcano, and lots of Islands to surf between. And there was also lots of great pokemon there.

My favourite anime series were the ones in Hoenn as well. They had some of the funniest and most memorable characters(eg. Corphish, Torkoal, Harley and Drew).

While I enjoyed the environmental diversity of Hoenn, I think I will choose Unova for being a foreign area, coupled with its relatively urban culture. Besides, it got a lot of new Pokémon, and Unova's in need of a voter anyway.

Each of the regoins had their own appeal. Johto is nostalgic as I first owned Gold, in addition to various other appeals. Kanto is a good, solid region on its own, and has its own brand of nostalgia from watching the TV show. Hoenn has a nice, natural feel to it, and Sinnoh seems very vast and open to exploration. Can't vouch for Unova yet.


Overall, though, Johto wins out in the end Introduced some of my favorite 'mons, was my first game region and has some really good NPCs backing it up.

Hoenn hands down. It has the most diverse and varied landscape introduced in games. Also, it's inhabited by many interesting species of pokemon.

most of my favourite pokemon come from hoenn and the R/S/E Gen has always been the best to me

Kanto has always been my favorite, but Hoenn is pretty neat as well.

I'm not a big fan of gen 2 at all, and Johto had so many flaws I don't know where to begin. But y'know, despite that, I still really dig that whole traditional oriental theme it had going for it. Even with the old GB graphics, it always had that distinctive atmosphere that I thought was right at home in a series based so heavily on nature and mythology.

johto was my first pokemon region, feraligatr was my first pokemon, and goldenrod is one of the best cities, it just holds everything u need. my residence is currently in goldenrod, i just moved in. i own the unoffical "TIME GYM" in which i award u with a clock badge. anyone who wants to beat me once Power and Speed are both lvl 100 come rite up.
