Johto is my favorite because I loved HGSS and the starters for Johto are my favorite too! I remember the anime lasted longer than other regions and it was still the original team of Ash/Brock/Misty which I love!

Johto! cool Goldenrod City, favorite starter Pokémon, interesting legends and myths
Hoeen, mainly for the music to route 111? (The desert route)
Also I find the focus on other areas such as forests and volcanoes gives the region more scope.
Hoenn is awesome, most certainly, but it has WAY too much water. Sinnoh is my favorite, I love the cold.
Unova. Cause I like the origin, lore, and overall art style.
I can't say I like the region of Kanto much, it's too dry. Johto was the first region I explored so it's pretty nostalgic for me...but I think my favorite would have to be Hoenn. It's got so much varied geography, it's definitely the prettiest. And them oceans <3
Unova has been my region of choice for so many years.
Love the large areas to explore, travelling around small cities - passing forest - and having large city to explore (Castelia City), having fun in Nimbasa City.
Love riding the bicycle across the various bridges - watching traffic around, so realistic.
I also love how the weather changes depending on the month.
Also the majority of my favorite Pokemon are native to Unova such as Liepard, Purrloin, Watchog, Patrat, Oshawott, Dewott, Samurott, Snivy, Servine, Mienfoo, Emolga.
My rank on where my favorite Pokemon live:
50% Unova, 30% Sinnoh, 15% Hoenn, 4% Kanto, 1% Johto= 100% Pokemon
Also, Roxie's music/band in Black2, I could easily spend hours there and never get bored.
Johto. I love the traditional Japanese feel of the region, it isn't too simple or overly complex to navigate, and only has a handful of water routes (and the Whirl Island reefs are still pretty interesting as far as water routes go).
The Jōto/Johto region. My first Pokemon game is Pokemon Silver therefore I have some kind of a nostalgic attachment to it. The region always feels like home. ;-)
Although my first pokemon game was in Kanto (Pokemon Red), I extremely enjoyed playing Emerald therefore making Hoenn my favorite region.
I love the lush nature found in the region. And the anime-exclusive locations were beautiful too.
One of my favorite cities was Slateport. It reminds me so much of the small fishing town I grew up to where seaside markets are abundant.
Hoenn's definitly my favorite place. Johto comes close, but Hoenn has a closer bond to nature. Johto's cool because of the nostalgia and history.
Sinnoh, I like how diverse it is.
As for starter Pokemon;
1. Hoenn (Mudkip/Torchic/Treecko)
2. Johto (Chikorita/Cyndaquil/Totodile)
3. Kanto (Squirtle/Charmander/Bulbasaur)
4. Unova (Snivy/Oshawott/Tepig)
5. Sinnoh (Chimchar/Piplup/Turtwig)
---
As for just Pokemon, Hoenn probably is the best region. But Misty was my favourite character in Ash's travelling companions. That's why I'm gonna say Johto.
Favorite region Unova because of its geographic features which include a beach undella bay, alot of mountains the big bridges easpecially the castelia city bridge, castelia city a huge metropolis, ninbasa city a city of intertainment black city white forest, how the places change because of the seasons.
I have to soay, without a doubt, Kanto.
Maybe it's because of the nostalgia of it all, or maybe because I've spent the most time in that region, but it just always stuck out to me. Whenever I think of Pokemon, I think of that one.
Personally, out of all the regions, Hoenn left me kinda indifferent. I loved Kanto and Johto, and while I wasn't as big on Sinnoh, the lore left me enthralled. Unova is growing on me pretty quickly. But Hoenn...? Nothing special to me. Nothing really stood out to me as a region...except that there was a lot of water. It wasn't bad, just didn't do it for me. I'm surprised that's winning this poll...
