I would first pokemon would have to be Charmander.
I would then try to find a Gastly and Gible. The rest will pan out.

Chimchar, this will always be my answer!
Riolu would easily be my first choice if I could choose any Pokemon to start my journey with. Riolu itself is quite cute and it evolves into my favorite Pokemon Lucario. Plus, I really like the idea of starting out with a Pokemon that evolves through friendship since that makes the bond more touching. It would be so cool to raise a Riolu into a Lucario as my first Pokemon.
Hmm... I'd probably pick Eevee, mainly because of the diversity, but also because it's not the kind of pokemon that is likely to injury you in anyway, which would be helpful if you were a rookie trainer.
I love them sea-otter Pokemon! I also love 'em weasel and cat Pokemon.
Top 5 favorite Pokemon in order - All sea-otters: Dewott, Buizel, Oshawott, Samurott, & Floatzel!
I also like: Mienfoo, Mienshao, Watchog, Zangoose, Linoone, Furret, Purrloin, Liepard, & Persian
I'd start out with Oshawott, which might seem odd since I hate the hideous thing. But it does eventually evolve into my favourite Pokemon, so to do that I would have to put aside my prejudices and work with it until it evolves. But it would be so worth it in the end.

My first post here was non-sense so..
If I would have my first pokemon, it would be Staryu.
I was born and spent my childhood in a tiny tropical island, with beaches and fishing villages. When I was young, I enjoyed swimming and diving.
I imagine to have Staryu as my swimming and diving companion.
I was a bad girl one time...and now I'm gonna pay for what I did forever and ever and ever.

I'd want my first pokemon to be a Charmander. Mainly because I've always wanted a Charmander of my own since I was a little girl playing Blue version! I still think it's a pretty good option. It's tail provides a good light source for traveling at night or through caves, and you always have a heat source. Plus you could probably tell it to shoot fire into the air in order to get someone's attention if you're lost. And once it evolves, it can fly so I can travel anywhere I want with it!
An IceFox who prefers fire types? That's... interesting.
I'm more partial to blues and greens as well~
