    Default Are the Swords of Justice a legendary trio?

    Forgive me and feel to free to move this or merge if this thread is in the wrong place. Or should this be a blog?

    As the title says, should the Swords of Justice be considered one of the legendary trios? Yeah, it's a "quartet" because it has four members but its clearly meant to be akin to previous legendary trios, and in addition, Keldeo is shown to be a special member.

    All three normal members are to be found at in-game locations in both games (B/W or B2/W2) during normal gameplay. That's more similar to previous trios than the Kamis because you can only find one Kami if you have only one game. And obviously, they have that 580 BST. Also, the story of the Three Musketeers has them as the Three Musketeers even after D'artagan was added, I believe.

    Bottom line, do you think the Swords of Justice (who only refer to the main 3 in the movie BTW) be considered a legendary trio?

    I consider them a trio at least. As for how Keldeo fits in, I just consider that Cobalion is the trio master for the group

    There are other trios with a fourth so why not this one.

    They are said to be legendaries based on The Three Musketeers. Keldeo is a special member of the group but Im unsure if he counts as the trio master. I see no reason why not, they were made to be legendaries and are powerful.

    Cobalion is Athos, Terrakion is Porthos, Virizion is Aramis (the titular Three Musketeers)

    Keldeo is d'Artagnan, the main protagonist of the book who joins the titular Three Musketeers and learns from them

    I consider them a trio+ Keldeo.

    Why shouldn't they be considered a trio? Keldeo is their master to an extent, just like Lugia is the master of the bird trio.

    Keldeo isn't the trio master, if anything he's the trio's apprentice just like D'artagan was. Trio master is an arbitrary fan-term that doesn't really apply here. I still consider them a trio though, because the three musketeers are best known as such even after D'artagan joined them.

    Not really.... I've never really counted a trio due to Keledo who's also a member... they're a legendary quartet since they are based off of the 3 Musketeers and D'Artigan

    Yes, I believe they definitely are. The Regis are a trio even though they have Regigigas, so I don't really see how this is different.

    I always thought of Keldeo as the opposite of a trio master.

    That's kind of my impression too. But he still functions in a similar way, as in he supplements the trio without being an official member.

    That's what I'd call it as well. I see the other three as a trio, and Keldeo as the new one learning from them, as d'Artagnan was in The Three Musketeers.

    Virizion, Cobalion, and Terrakion are called the musketeer trio so they are a trio. They are based off of the Three Musketeers with Keldeo representing d'Artagnan, as Pyradox said, who was learning how to be a musketeer from the other three.

    For reference:
    Virizion=Aramis
    Cobalion=Athos
    Terrakion=Porthos

    Swords of Justice is a reference to all four and must be pretty new as this is the first I'm hearing of it.
