Ugh... that must've been manky...

Anyway, they simply don't allow these sorts of things in the shoeboxes due to the fighting and battles; which is fair enough, I guess.
As to seeing Pokemon, for some reason I never really notice it anywhere out of the ordinary. Then again, the show is (marginally) less popular in the UK.

What? That's crazy! How'd that get there?

a jigglypuff key chain on a news reporter's purse
Re: In The Strangest Places...
Tangentially pokémon related but I did a bit of theater work and someone had written "Flash Cannon" on one of the theater's strobe cannons (basically a very powerful high intensity camera flash).
Everyone got a kick out of that.

someone at my school found a beat-up Misdreavus card by the bus stop. i got to keep it
Re: In The Strangest Places...
I recall in middle school ages ago having found a what I believe was a Ponyta TCG card on the pavement which was in good enough condition to pocket and keep. Though mind you, this was still back during the Gen I/II era when Pokémon's popularity was at its peak, so it really wasn't out of the ordinary to find the odd Pokémon card on schoolground floors.

That's because before, diamond and pearl was it, the poison types in the games were grass instead of psychic.
Anyways, when i didnt like Pokemon i saw an ex lying on the ground. Too bad i didn't like pokemon back then. Also when I didn't have any cards and I just watched people play the TCG, my friend found a full-art Zekrom on the ground and everyone wanted it so he just picked someone random to keep it. He did ask 10 cards for it, though.
Re: In The Strangest Places...
well i found a couple of pokemon cards behind a medium plastic wall in a mini playground in a supermarket. one was a trainer card and the other was a water type pokemon card. who the hell put them there?
Re: In The Strangest Places...
When I was in middle school I was waiting for the school bus one morning. I happened to glance down into the ditch by the road and I spotted a Mewtwo figure's head poking out of the water! This figure did not belong to my brother or I, as this ditch was nowhere near our house, and both of our figures were safely stashed away in a plastic bag under my bed. I picked it up and noticed his tail was missing so I look around and found it on the side of the road. I stashed him away in my pocket and brought him to school with me.
Little Mewtwo, I have no idea what happened to you and how you ended up in that ditch but you are safe now. And you have friends! I glued his tail back on and he's as good as new.

When I was in a bathroom stall of a store there was a slutty ditto drawn above the dirty tampon box.
