Thread: The reason behind Stunfisk's creation...... guess?

Stunfisk really can't be compared to fish like Magikarp and Feebas. For one thing, despite popular belief, it actually has useable stats. It's pretty bulky and then has a fairly wide movepool. Along with the unique type combo, I think it's more of a novelty Pokemon similar to Emolga or Chatot.

I like Stunfisk. It reminds me of my childhood. Any ways, I think it was created because they needed more Pokemon.

They just wanted to create a derp.

Everybody loves derps.

I actually think it's pretty cute.

That's an interesting idea. I can see the Stunfisk's typing fitting it quite nicely. Now I'm trying to figure out how Stunfisk personality carries over to this evolution.

As a gag. Same goes to Dunsparce. Or maybe they plan on giving it an evolution eventually.

God made a Pokémon. He accidentally sat down on it. And so was made Stunkfish.

According to an interview with Sugimori in Nintendo Dream, Stunfisk was suppose to be a Water/Electric type but changed it to balance the type spread between Pokémon. (guessing there wasn't enough Ground types). And it was also meant to be an Angler Fish.


PS: Stunfisk is based of a Flounder. Just look it up.

Every time I look at it I see the Unovian Magikarp. I think he's just another gag.

But, maybe, just maybe, they'll give him a good evo.

For some reason, I find them cool, and I even use one on my main team, and it is a higher level then my Samurott, it is Level 100.

They were created to be the source of Masuda's power, actually. In fact, the main source of his power is a golden Stunfisk statue.
