Default Are Pokemon available outside of the Pokemon Nation?

It's quite obvious that every country we have, they have. It's also been noted how the regions are apart of one big nation.

But are Pokemon exclusive to, or only allowed, inside the nation? If not, what is the point of the Pokemon nation? Is it just their Japan? Does Japan exist in their world? Is Pokemon training, or Pokemon themselves, as widespread in other countries?

How different are the cultures, and social views, of the other countries/continents compared to the Pokemon regions? Are they like their counterparts in our world or do they follow the Pokemon nations one?

    I don't see why they wouldn't be.

Pokémon are that world's animals, and animals aren't exactly unique to Japan.
Goddamn look at that Wargle in your avatar, all, "FUCK YOU I'M AMERICA! I EMBODY THE ENTIRE COUNTRY WITHIN MY FURY! I AM BOTH BIRD AND CONCEPT!"

Well, there are animals in the Pokeworld from the looks of it. Not just Pocket Monsters.

Well, considering the mass of water types and flying types... Yeah, I believe they are elsewhere.

True, but I don't think they've been used in quite a while, both in the anime and games. Actually, I don't think I've ever seen an animal in the games.

Never seen outside of the anime and one or two manga adaptations. But referenced enough for us to know they exist.

    Neither have I.
I don't always resist, but when I do, it's with The Resistance. Stay resistant, my friends.

Well, one time Ash made a reference to the Minnesota Vikings, if this answers your question. It was aired pretty early on and I was deeply amused.

    Oh shit Youtube clip?!

Anyway Fantina (France) and Surge (TEAM AMERICA!) pretty much confirm that there are Pokemon trainers in other countries.

It's from Pokemon the First Movie. You can find it in the Nostalgia critic review of said movie (apologies to Minnesotans everywhere)

What Ryuu said, and that was only added in by the crazy American dubbers, so don't take that as canon evidence for anything

    Dub reference.

    ..
Bulbapedia sort of has a page about the Pokemon's nation relation to the other countries.

One could argue they came to Sinnoh/Kanto to be trainers or in Surge's case his war was inside the Pokemon nation.

Also is Fantina really french? Isn't she english in the Japanese version?

One could argue that, but they'd be an idiot to be bothered. Doesn't the intro to every single game say that the WORLD is populated by Pokémon?

I don't know about the Japanese version (maybe she's British, though her design does lend itself more to French), though I did notice that, despite all evidence leaning towards this being the Japan of the pokemon world, there's still one kid who says that he learned the word "Konnichiwa" in his foreign language class. That was odd.

I believe the Orre region (Colosseum/XD Gale of Darkness) was devoid of wild Pokemon. They had to be imported from other regions.
