That poll is seriously rigged.
And that map of Japan is also awesome, no doubt about that.
(I imagine it's just like Canada - about 5% of the land is inhabited.)
The word "quadragonal" is the only word with "dragon" in it where "dragon" is not a root word. That makes it awesome.
That's a sensible theory if I ever saw one. Game Freak stated that they wanted to move out of Japan so as to distinguish Black and White from the other DS games. By the time Generation VI is released, the old regions won't be very recent, and the new games will feel different by virtue of the new technology alone.

I've actually tried something similar; I've been using Google Earth to mark up the inspirations for Pokemon World locations. Unfortunately, I haven't found much for Isshu yet; Hiun City has been confirmed to be based on Lower Manhattan, and by extension we can assume the Sky Arrow Bridge is based on the Brooklyn Bridge. But other locations seem like they have to, at the most, be somewhat looser interpretations: All I have other than those is Liberty Garden Island (which I'm quite amateurly assuming to be based on Liberty Island; I haven't found much about what the location is like) and the Cylinder Bridge (which bears at least a passing resemblance to the George Washington Bridge). Perhaps once the games are out in the U.S. and I've gotten one of them, I'll be able to make better judgments.

I was told this would fit better here
So we now know that Isshu is based on the New York City area, but what real world areas are the locations in Black and White supposed to represent?
Cities
Hiun City-Lower Manhattan Confirmed
Liberty Garden Island-Liberty Island
Hodomoe City-Jersey City or Hoboken
Raimon City-Broadway/Times Square
*Gear Station-Grand Central Station
Shippou City-Not sure may be Brooklyn or Queens
Sanyou City-Not sure may be Brooklyn or Queens
Karakusa Town-Unknown
Kanoko Town-Possibly Brighton Beach or Manhattan Beach
Fukiyose City-Newark or Teterboro Airport
Sekka City-the city's myth bears a slight resemblance to the Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving
Souryuu City-Unknown
Kagome Town-Unknown
Sanazami Town-Unknown
Black City-Unknown
Kanawa Town-Unknown, possibly a town in Upstate NY
Bridges and other areas
Sky Arrow Bridge-Brooklyn Bridge Confirmed
Cylinder Bridge-George Washington Bridge
Liberty Garden Island-Liberty Island
Sanazami Bay-Jamaica Bay
Wonder Bridge-Unknown but looks vaguely like the Alexander Hamilton Bridge, located where the Queensboro Bridge would be.
Village Bridge-Unknown
Hodomoe Drawridge-There is a car tunnel in Hodomoe City that may be a reference to the Lincoln Tunnel
High Link-Central Park
United Tower-United Nations(but on it's own island for some reason)
Unlike the old regions, which seem to copy Japan's geography almost perfectly, Isshu looks like a very distorted version of it's real world counterpart.
That's all I can think of for now.
Could you list parallels between the Pokemon locations and the real world locations? I'd like to believe you, but I'd also like a bit more than just approximate locations. Are there any landmarks or features of the Pokemon locations which are similar to those of the locations you listed?
EDIT: I took a closer look at your deductions and am thoroughly impressed. My map on Google Earth is far more filled out now.

That map was a huge wtf to me that they actually showed it. If we're going to find the other regions on it, I'd first look for Sinnoh or Hoenn. They'd stand out the most.
