Default Pokémon in the Media (watch video to see)

Here is a video of a news article on homing pigeons. I think you'll like it, especially if you like a certain yellow-and-blue logo. Around 0:50, there is a glimpse of the reason I posted this. Around 1:10-1:20, the reason I posted this is revealed to those of you who don't have keen eyes and a good imagination.

That's not really "Pokemon in the media", it's a kid wearing a Pokemon shirt who happened to wear it on TV.

(*insert obligitory statement about Pokemon's appeal to autistics/comment about Tajiri's neurology here*)

True, true. By the way, about the part in parenthetical asteriks, maybe it is actually HELPING those people. If someone has a disorder which keeps them from socializing, then a game like Pokémon, where trading with others is the key to completing the game with a 5-Star Black Trainer Card (MMO games would also help in situations like this), would possibly be as good as the best psychological care in the world, for less than half the cost.

Why would they do that? It's not like it's a conflict of interest to show a random brand (like it sometimes is on the Food Network). You wouldn't expect them to blur a shirt with Mickey Mouse, would you?

Or Kermit the Frog :) (look at the video and you'll see the green Muppet, too)

Usually they do because companies don't want free advertising (unless it is a fansite or something). It's weird, I know, something I don't completely understand myself (mainly because I haven't looked into it)

All I know is that they need some kind of clearance to show a logo or a product from a company unless it isn't directly related to the news article or something. (Like if they were reporting on the Porygon Episode they could show it, but if they were talking about a fire that burned down a kid's building they usually blur it)

As for Mickey and Kermit... those are special cases because Disney owns or owns part of almost everything... (lol) So it is a good chance that the news program could be owned by Disney. (It sounds like a joke but I'm half serious with disney having ties even with fox, let alone abc, espn, and cnn)

But they're not focusing on the shirt at all, it's just there in the background.

Fox is its own company, I believe. Disney owns ABC, sure, but ESPN and CNN are owned by Turner Broadcasting, which is Ted Turner's territory.

Correct. It's the same with the stuffed Pikachu in the movie The Pacifier.
