    Default Pokémon Eggs

I know this may sound like grasping at straws, but I had a thought... Pokédex entries state that Celebi leaves behind an egg whenever it travels around through time. An NPC near the Breeding Center in D/P says that no Pokémon has ever been seen laying an egg. So... I'm wondering if the eggs that appear at the Pokémon Day Care are actually brought by Celebi from the future?

Celebi eggs or eggs from the pokemon you leave at the Daycare?

But the games don't say that it's a Celebi egg, just an egg.

Bah, I remember that NPC. I felt like asking him/her/it 'so then, WHERE THE HELL DO THEY COME FROM!?!'
Personally I think it might be there so the little kids playing the ganmes won't ask any... questions on the subject. I'm without a doubt that Pokemon eggs from their respective mothers and fathers - but that's another story. ;)

The exact Pokedex entry in question (from Serebii) - 'When it disappears deep in a forest, it is said to leave an egg it brought from the future'.
So it leaves the egg in a forest, not the day-care centre - and if it had, I'm sure more emphasis would have been paid to Celebi in this regard, rather than Celebi's connection to forests, and to another extent, 'purifying' shadow Pokemon.

Unless, of course, Pokemon eggs are not what they seem and there's a massive conspiracy being covered up by the day care people.

Maybe pokemon don't lay eggs, they "Materialize" (appear)after a while of the two parents doing what they do. it could be possible right? Pokemon can do all sorts of strange things and that could be possible too.

The only thing we can know for sure is that, unlike the Pokemon fandom, no one in the Pokemon World is into Beastiality. If they were, then I am so sure the "mystery of where eggs come from" would be solved in the blink of an eye.

I'm unsure what that has to do with anything. And besides, DP says that humans and pokemon used to intermarry.

Where on earth did you get that from?

It only stated that Pokémon and Humans were once equal and almost indistingishable from one another.

Anyway, I think Celebi's supposed egg actually contains... Itself. This creates a bit of an onothological paradox, which fits in very well with it's time traveling powers.

You can't have time travel without some bizzare paradox.

Its a statement to mock the obliviousness of the Pokemon World characters.

Also that we are overcomplicating something so trivial when the simplest explanation is probably the right one.

Well that's interesting... but I guess they took this out because it's supposed to be "Adam and Eve" not "Adam and Eevee".

If Nintendo didn't have a problem with beastality, then why do they have a problem with the...um...birds and the bees? Makes me wonder if that's how the Humanshape egg group came along...

Maybe some archaic "Pokumans" (Pokémon humans) come around and lay the eggs. After all, it's only said that they never saw Pokémon lay the eggs.

But if that's true (long ago Pokémon and humans couldn't be told apart) then how did modern humans come along? Last time I checked, we're placental mammals. Or maybe Ash's mom is just an echidna in a human guise. =P

Okay, that's just gross. But I'm with Bobandill -- Pokemon eggs come from the male and female pokemon that create them. People in the Pokemon world are just too ignorant to notice those rustling bushes with a pair of Eevee in them ;) or whatever.
