In the immortal words of the dremora lords: "I SMELL WEAKNESS!"
I should register on peta's forums and troll like nobody's ever trolled
I'll suggest they wear human leather in public to show that it's wrong to skin animals and they'd most likely do it knowing them
PETA is terrible. Anyone who REALLY wants to do something for animal rights should join the Humane Society or the ASPCA instead.
I have thought about the way that people fight Pokemon and keep them as pets, but it's made clear that Pokemon know they don't HAVE to obey their trainers (Ash's Charmeleon, any Pokemon you get in the games without enough badges). I think the Pokemon realize that they are in a mutually beneficial relationship with humans, and I think Pokemon have competitive natures that mean they gain satisfaction from becoming stronger than challengers. I also think that the trainer-Pokemon relationship is similar to a coach-boxer relationship. It isn't slavery; the Pokemon is looking for guidance in becoming stronger and through their training the Pokemon and its trainer develop a special bond. The Pokemon are clearly extraordinary animals and while they can be seriously harmed, they know to curb their power in battles so that their opponent does not become truly injured. Didn't one episode of the anime show the inside of a Pokeball being a perfect replica of a Pokemon's natural enviornment, since the balls convert the animals into electrons so they can be transferred into a digital format?
I like how PETA overlooks the cruelty that Team Plasma actually commits against Pokemon. But they're like PETA; all they do is talk and run campaigns for personal gain instead of taking real action.
That is as much as a good idea as their attempts to make porn a while back, with the same consequences, Every.Damn.Time.
yes i've played this, i thought it was funny and actually a fun little mini-game, i do agree that pokemon shouldn't be confide in balls..they should be out of it..but i've always been okay with the fighting since the pokemon in our series likes to fight most of the time..but i can see why PETA doesn't like pokemon, it seems like a glossy coat version of animal abuse..but really it's just a game/anime , i grew up on pokemon and i've never thought of being cruel to animals..in fact i get all teary eye when i see commercials of those abused pets...and on a side note their are pokemon who'll not go in their pokeball and pokemon that'll pop out of it any time they want, not the trainer..like psyduck from the old school pokemon anime, which is pretty much all the anime i know from pokemon.
and is it wrong that i really liked Ash's costume..i want to wear that in the next pokemon game! and i don't mind being covered in blood either Pffft yeah i'm a weird one.
and yeah PETA isn't something i can take serously..and i doupt they played the whole game, but just got some info about it and ran with it..they should try to make a difference rather than just try to smear a childrens video game..
I don't think that was an episode, fanon surely, but which episode is that?
Poké Ball - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia
Idk how to quote articles but it's on this page.
I only found this part, and it has more to do with the games, not indicating the animé or an episode at all:
''[...]While it is not known how a captured Pokémon perceives their time inside their Ball, the device is said to replicate a "Pokémon-friendly" environment that is "designed for comfort". All of these factors strongly discourage Pokémon from escaping their Balls. ''
