Okay, call this a bunch of crazy rambling if you want, but I think it is a very interesting theory regarding Garbodor and about how it "ticks".
While I was looking at this article at UFOpaedia...
...It really got me thinking about Garbodor and before you know it, my mind was in a rush and brimming with all sorts of ideas that needed to be written down.
My Theory regarding Garbodor:
Garbodor is a Bacterial Collective of billions of micro-organisms that are both independent and intelligent but able to communicate with each other and carry out essential functions with unconditional cooperation. The bacterial collective is divided into 9 sub-collectives with each one holding a different organic function.
The "Sentience": This critically important sub-collective of micro-organisms are superintelligent and act as Garbodor's "brain".
Thinking and relaying instructions to the sub-collectives through the "Relayer".
The "Relayer": This secondary sub-collective of micro-organisms act as Garbodor's "nervous system".
They carry electrical impulses back and forth between the "Sentience" and the "essential function" sub-collectives.
The "Photosensor": This sub-collective of micro-organisms act as Garbodor's "eyes".
They relay sight information to the "Sentience" which is light, colors, and depth.
The "Auditory": This sub-collective of micro-organisms act as Garbodor's "inner ears".
They relay sound information to the "Sentience".
The "Contractile": This sub-collective of micro-organisms act as Garbodor's "muscles".
They expand and contract on orders given to them by the "Relays", producing force and motion in Garbodor's legs and arms.
The "Containment": This sub-collective of micro-organisms act as Garbodor's "Skin".
They strongly bond with one another, on the cellular level, to keep in the trash matter that constitutes Garbodor and keep out any foreign matter, unless the brain gives instructions to absorb something... or even someone.
They also relay touch information to the "Sentience" which is temperature, pressure, and pain.
The "Oralfactory": This sub-collective of micro-organisms forms Garbodor's "mouth" and "teeth".
Their functions are to process food for the "Decomposition" and take in air for the "Pulmonary".
The composition of the teeth depends on the available solid materials inside Garbodor's trash: Plastic, rusted metal, or broken glass.
The "Pulmonary": This sub-collective of micro-organisms act as the "lungs" and "voice" of Garbodor.
Their functions are to take in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide and to provide verbal communication by vibrating.
The "Pulmonary" is also suprising efficient and resilient at scavenging air, even when it is very polluted and dangerous to the health of both people and pokemon.
The "Decomposition": This sub-collective of micro-organisms forms an acid-resistant chamber which acts as Garbodor's "stomach".
It contains a pool of digestive enzymes which breaks down food so it may be absorbed by the other collectives.
