Okay, is Lucario based off Anubis?

Sure, he looks like a jackal, which Anubis is often depicted as, but does he share any traits of Anubis? People are now arguing if he's based off Anubis or not, personally I say no. What do you guys think?

No connection can currently be made other than Lucario looks like Anubis and has Bone Rush.

Well, he looks like Anubis. But we don't know much about the pokemon itself so far, so it's a tough call here.

Also, this thread is more suited for Pokemon World, seeing as we're discussing what is Lucario based off. *moves*

Uh, I would like to know something more about him. His story should be interesting. I'm waiting for the game, maybe I will find information in the pokedex or something.

It very well seems like they could have been inspired for its character design from Anubis, but other than that you really cant tell anything else about it =\

Hmm.... his face is much prettier than Blaziken. I have nothing against Blaziken but it looks a lot like a Bird (I'm talking about its head).

I'm serious. they made the face more dog like, coloured him blue, changed the shape of the things on the back of his head and voila! they have a new pokemon.

go into google and type in his japanese name 'Rukario'. look in images and go through a few pages. you'll find a pic of Blaziken's head on a mewtwo body, shaded green. compare it to a few of the Lucario pics and you may see small resemblence.

No, Lucario looks way diffrent. He's much cooler as well.

They way you people talk, I would think Lucario is a fake pokemon. It's not, though.

I'm positive the association between Lucario and Anubis is limited to the similarity in their looks.

There is little to go on but I don't think Lucario will have a story akin to Anubis.

As for Lucario = Blaziken + Mewtwo, that's bull.

I think he only just looks like it and nothing else.
