Thread: Lost Respect For Pokemon

No i haven't lost any respect for Pokemon, and i can't think of any reason why i would so i wanted to ask...What would be the one thing GameFreak/Nintendo could do to Pokemon that would make you lose all your respect for them entirely?

They released a rare Turtwig that you can dance on as an event.

AND MARIO REALLY IS SATAN!

I think having been so into Pokemon since Gen 1 it's gonna be hard to stop liking it. I grew up with the games; they're a large part of my childhood (and my college life xD) so I can't really think of anything.

They'd have to change the games into something they've never been to screw up pokemon for me

They turn it into a high school dating game.

Cross it with Harvest Moon, or put Harvest Moon-like features in it like dating, marriage and farming.

Gah. Harvest Moon.

A little Farfetch'd, but yeah.

If they made Pokemon into a MMORPG. Then I would really quit.

I guess if they got rid of Ash in the anime i'd lose respect for that. But not the whole franchise

This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I would honestly lose respect if they made a game where you are evil. To me, it would go against the whole morale behind the games. But like others have said, I would also lose respect if dating elements were added.

I've already lost a small amount of respect for the fact that they replaced the slot machines with non–casino-style minigames and got rid of all textual references to gambling... including changing what that one Gambler said to "I'm a rambling, gaming dude." which does not rhyme (and is less of a reference to that song) and makes pretty much no sense, not to mention that in that the verb "game" usually means "play games of chance for money". It literally means gamble unless the guy is trying to say that he plays video games, lol

Finally grace us with a more difficult mode, but make it inaccessible until you complete the game, and it's deleted if you restart your game.

Blaziken was the first then all of a sudden every starter wants to be fire/fighting.......it's just not unique anymore......
But what would make me lose my respect is if Gamefreak goes overboard with Pokemon. Like adding stuff that doesn't fit them.

If they completely revamped the battle system of the main games and it's nowhere near as complex and intricate as the current one.

If GF is starting to listen to the complainers, who make the games look controversial in the first place (like they've done to Gen V), whether it's from here or on SPPF.

It was needed to get passed the first few gyms and to resist Stealth Rock in competitive battles, which is why Charizard and Typhlosion are in the low tiers.
