So what do you call the legendary beasts?
Gerbils? Never really heard that one but anyways I always called them the Legendary Dogs. I think this is due to my classmates from my elementary school years always calling them that, so I began identifying the Pokemon as so as well.
You can't forget the legendary birds! 8 legendaries are birds 9 if you include Shaymin.
Honesty i would only call them cats. Raikou is a tiger and Entei supposedly a lion, i struggle over suicune though, but i figure its a cheetah. Seriously I dont know where people are getting " legendary dogs from"
I see them all as being cats (smilodon, lion, cheetah), but I call them beasts just so people don't get their knickers in a twist.
I don't even see a part of them that looks like it could be a dog. They're cats, people. Like others have said "smilodon (saber tooth tiger), lion, cheetah" for Raikou, Entei and Suicune respectfully.
They're all based off of cats, but I just naturally call them "beasts".
Technically, they're neither cats, dogs nor gerbils (spelled with an "e," mind you). They're Pokémon, so there.
I HAVE to be the one who vited for gerbils. It's just my nature. The whole argument in stupid. They could be ducks for all I care. They're legendaries and therefore awesome whatever you call them. But I call them gerbils.
Gerbils? Excuse me what? I've never heard anything more ridiculous!
To me Suicune is clearly a some kind of dog, wolf etc. Raikou is absolutely a saber-toothed tiger and Entei has hints from them both.
Sure you can call them whatever you like, but.. Hey - I just remember that I've heard somebody calling them as RABBITS! That's even more ridiculous...
And yeah, I call 'em as the beasts 'cause that's the right way to call.
I just call them Legendary Beasts, because that is what they most resemble to me.
I call them legendary dogs, since that's always what I've heard they were.

I call them beasts but they are big cats, technically. I never saw why people would think other wise.
