Thread: If You Were Starting Your Own Pokemon Journey

Imagine that you were starting your own Pokemon journey.
All of your friends are starting at the same time you are.
It's time that you make an important decision.
What will be the focus of your journey?
Will you do? Will you focus on gym battles? Specialize in contests? Travel in order to catch as many Pokemon as possible? Research Pokemon and uncover their secrets? Would you be a breeder?
Or maybe you'd just go with the flow and travel with your friends, helping them out and competing with whatever they were doing?
What do you think?

I think I'd be like Nando and do contest and gym battles and nothing else I'll based on animals in my area I will use

Travelling through Hoenn... Trying to win as many Ribbons as possible... Maybe taking a break along the way.

I'd focus on gym battles and collecting as many rare Pokemon as possible to make the strongest possible team. I'd use:

Charizard (my starter)
Scizor
Dragonite
Staraptor
Electivire
Lucario

I think I would just go with the flow and Travel where life takes me. I would do contests most of the time, and maybe have a battle or two as they came up.

As for Pokemon:
Starmie
Roserade
Luxray
Staraptor
Eevee

I'd take on the Gym Leaders and the Pokemon League, trying to be the best trainer there is

Well, if Pokemon were real, I'd catch everyone.
That or do the same thing that Ash did and is doing since EP001

I'd join Team Rocket. It seems more exciting than being a normal trainer with slim chances of climbing the ranks.

It requires long term strategic planning, recon and intelligence, etc.

I'd be one of those wandering Trainers, building up a decent team but not being bothered enough to challenge the Pokémon League. Maybe do Contests... maybe.

Id be a Top-Trainer. And maybe even a part time Pokémon Ranger.

My Ranger partner would be Minun. I loved its paralyzing abilities.

My focus would be to be one of the E4 or a Gym Leader.
I would focus on Gym battles and catch as many Pokemon as possible.

I'd be in the Cool Trainer class!

I would try and capture all the most powerful Pokemon then try and take over the world!

I would definitely join my local gym so I could learn from an actual sensei instead of wasting time trying to reinvent the wheel by teaching myself. I would probably have joined my high school's pokemon team, and try to get on my college team. If I wasn't good enough for D1, then I'd just join a club or something. I wouldn't want to make pokemon battling a profession, but it is definitely something I would try to do my entire life.

As for what pokemon I would catch, I would definitely try to catch a psychic pokemon. I think it would be a real challenge to train one, and would require a whole lot of self discipline since I am not a psychic myself.

Ideally of course, I would like to catch a Dragonite. If I had one of those, then everything else would just be details.
