The "If Pokémon Were Real" thread

I was having a discussion with my friend yesterday, and it started out as a conversation about HGSS--he said he liked that Pokemon could follow you around because it was "realistic," and if Pokemon were real he was some would want to be out of their Pokeballs. So I asked, "what Pokemon would follow you?" And he thought for a moment, before replying:

"I'd probably just have my Mismagius float above me all the time, and then have a Pokemon sit on my shoulder... like my Bellossom. Well, she's probably small enough for me to just hold her... I don't know why I'm talking about this. It's never going to happen."

Reality check aside--if Pokemon were real, how would your life relate to the plot/progression of the games? Would it be possible for you to have some of the Pokemon you have now? Do you think we would wake up and look like Anime characters?

For one, I don't think my mom would have let me travel the world at 10. Japan must really have responsible children.

I know for one thing, if pokemon were real, I'd be in the game corner, charmander at my side, flipping to get dratini.

If Pokemon were real I'd only have them as pets. Training would just take so much effort.

I'd imagine that battles taken place in the "real world" would be much more fast-paced than just waiting for each turn to happen, making them a little more difficult.

It would be much harder to single-handedly stop criminal organizations as well. No one is stupid enough to just mope around after being beaten in a pokemon battle. In fact, they would probably try to pull off unorthodox methods in battling, like pulling out a gun and shooting your monster if he/she loses.

I'll have my Empoleon following me and my Mijumaru (B/W starter-water) on my shoulder. I'd be traveling in the Johto region. ;]

Meh if my mom says no I'll sneak off at night and leave a note that says "My friend offered to travel with me so we're both going I'll come back way tougher"

I'd take Charmander as my starter and steal the last one after my rival steals it and then start traveling around Kanto like Red in the first games ever made

If Pokemon were real, I'd drop out of school, and go on a journey with them, collecting gym badges and challenging the Pokemon League. When I do become the Champion of my current region, I'd move on to other regions, and try to conquer their leagues.

i like this! haha im always wondering what it would b like :)

well i would prob not have a shiny cyndaquil MALE, but id love one as my starter and maybe never evolve it like Ash's pikachu.... i love that little fiery pokemon! haha
i LOVE the heat and it gets cold here sometimes so id keep him close,like on my shoulder or something like that, we'd have the same personality and joke about alot and play pranks on ppl haha but in a good manner

then id have a Leafeon FEMALE walking beside me all faithful like a dog does :) if you read about the pokemon it says that there is pure oxygen around it, in the real world that would help out a lot when i used cyndaquil to fight others, plus i love leafeon, id hope mine would grow some fruit off of it xD

Then a Lugia to fly me around, he is my FAVE legendary considering my name is Luis and plus, he is just a beast pokemon :) i love how carrying they are in episode 220-221 oh the jotoh season! <3 my lugia would be the best and all cocky haha

maybe a gengar, they come in handy i think.... i dont have much of a personal reason to get one besides that they are cool and i have one at the moment and im enjoying him haha

i would deff have a ditto! i have one named Puddy :)
i like how they are basically every pokemon, without having to be legendary like mew, or the new Z-thingy
ha ditto could pretend to be me and i hope he could be a smart ditto

and then for a moment i would need a water pokemon i think Lugia in reality would have that handled but if i have to chose i think it would be Squirtle like the one Ash has just cause they get along ahha

I'd probably be one of those trainers with a bunch of evolutions of the same Pokemon who doesn't add anything to the plot except to further the main character's progression and exp. In my case, I'd have all Eeeveeloustions: My party would consist of: Eevee, Umbreon, Glaceon, Leafeon, Espeon, and Jolteon. I'd lose the battle easily, and register myself in the protagonist's phone to annoy him/her about how I saw a Nidoran but it ran away.

Unlike a typical trainer, outside of battles they'd pretty much just be my pets.

I freaking loooooove Eevee's evoloution line.

I'd go to mount coronet with my super rod and catch one myself.

I'd train it and when it evolved to Dragonite I would fly around and look for a Mareep, a Beldum, a Squirtle, a Kabuto, and a Growlithe.
